It doesn't matter what political party you support, this attraction is worth your time. This is American history. The artifacts provide a wonderful behind-the-scenes look of an American president. Your pass is good for a couple of days, so no need to rush through. This was well worth our time.

Very informative and interesting. Really fleshed out the character of Harry Truman the Man,Husband,Father,Soldier and Public Servant.

the details of history are here - not sugar coated. Kids may get a flavor of how complicated history can be - and how luck may determine the course of history.

Well first of all, I REALY LIKED HARRY. Second, we have never been to one that was not fascinating and well done. The information and displays about his presidency, WWII, the dropping of the two Nuclear Weapons, were teriffic. But the high lite of the museum was the fantastic large mock-up of the esterior and interior of the White House showing rooms with minature furniture, lights, etc.

Not to be missed if you're in the area, and only a mile or so from President Truman's home. Ample parking in lots, completely handicapped accessible. A stunning display of President Truman's life and work while serving our country in addition to all historical events that Truman was involved with or that our country was involved with at the time. Both he and Bess are buried here, and an eternal flame watches over them. There's a small bookstore/gift shop on site. Parking is ample in lots. $8 admission fee with reductions for seniors and children. There is no admission if you plan to just shop at the store. Check on-line for special events which will affect parking.

I'm trying to see them all and this one was very nicely organized and easy to walk through. One thing seemed off to us...the order of some exhibit explanations. We'd look at a few items, ask a question about what we were seeing and then, after the fact, an answer was given?? We may have been tired or going through the museum in the wrong direction, but that seemed off for us.

This a very nice museum with different media and types of exhibits. We learned so much about Harry S. Truman. What a great outing!

A mural by Thomas Hart Benton welcomes visitors into the Harry S Truman Library & Museum, where visitors can visit a recreation of the Oval Office, take a walk through time in the contexts of Truman's life and presidency, and experience interactive multi-media exhibits designed to drive home the complexities of this stirring time in American history. From the Berlin Airlift to the dropping of the Bomb to the desegregation of the military, visual exhibits and interactive displays bring to the modern visitor the intricacies of international diplomacy and home-grown authenticity. On rotating display are also intriguing exhibits such as Bess Truman's dresses and the Truman's cars, in addition to the fixed displays that mark such events as Truman's service in WWI and the attempted assassination on his life. Whether a Missourian or a visitor, this is a national treasure you don't want to miss!

I knew this would be interesting, but I was surprised just how interesting and enlightening the exhibits were.Don't miss this!

Adults will enjoy but children MAY bore quickly. After all, events shown seem real to anyone over 40 but history to young people... That said there are interactive ideas young people seemed to enjoy and a great opportunity for adults and children to have real conservations. We went especially for the Madeleine Albright pins exhibit after visit many years ago and were entranced. Excellent thought-provoking exhibit. 2-3 hours is about right without special exhibits. Enjoyed walking in the outside interior courtyard where Harry & Bess Truman are buried and would not hesitate to go again... and again... $8 charge for adults...

This is a beautiful building with a lot to experience! There are interactive exhibits and many artifacts. I always go to a glass case with a letter from a soldier's mother, blaming Truman for her son's death. The personal side of a president is evident. I get teary-eyed every time, thinking about the pressures of each decision.

This is a must see in Independence. Allow 2 to 3 hours. You may be tired but don't skip going downstairs. A couple of his cars are there. The traveling exhibits are usually very good, too, to keep you coming back.

Very worth while to see while visiting Independence. The themes change very often and they are very good.

This museum is awesome. We unfortunately thought we could complete it in 5 hours. We were wrong. Definitely, plan on doing this as a whole day excursion especially if you love history. Their exhibits are really good and there is a lot of reading to go with them. A "must" place to stop for history buffs.
