It was an absolutely beautiful March day in Missouri. This winery (House of the Crazy) we understand, used to be an insane asylum. They have converted it to this great little winery. It sits really high on a cliff overlooking a river. They have built lots of decks with spaces to sit outside. They have a really nice indoor area as well in case the weather doesn't permit sitting outside. They served a wood fired pizza that looked so yummy! We got to meet the owner that day and he was a joy to sit and visit with! They actually have a few cabins that you can rent to stay there and looks like they are renowned for hosting weddings there...and it would be a gorgeous venue!!! Will definitely go back!

This winery is great for relaxation and enjoying the scenery. It was even better going in the fall when the leaves were changing, what a sight to see! They were having a bee problem during our last visit, which was rather annoying but I guess somewhat unavoidable when you are drinking sweet wine. Nevertheless, we always enjoy our time here!

The place is really nice. The road there is gravel and a bit rough at points. The wines were really good. Getting there will frustrate some people.

My husband and I went to Casa De Loco to celebrate our anniversary. We got in Saturday evening in time to enjoy a pizza, few bottles of wine, and catch a free concert by Smoke N Guns. We stayed the evening in Room 1 and loved it. We got up Sunday morning and the staff took us up river to float (a must do!). It was a gorgeous float and very fun! We took out back at the winery which was very convenient! Casa is a lovely place with a great staff. It is a hidden gem for sure. This may be our yearly anniversary spot!!

We own a condo down the street on 54 and my 65+ year old parents turned us on to this place. Great midwestern pizza, awesome views, friendly staff. Yes the road and the bridge are crazy but that is part of the adventure. We make it a habit to stop for the pizza every trip and my wife tends to get tanked on a very particular bottle of wine that she likes. As for the detractors pfff, don't change a thing. Absolutely love it, and I am a pizza snob.

Thank you very much for stopping in! We hope to see you again in the future.

I am very sorry about your trip to Casa De Loco. It is true, after a bad rain the gravel roads in this area can get a few "washboard" spots. However, the county has been working on the road a lot this year to widen it, fix drainage issues, and so on. We hope to have it paved by the end of 2015. As for the merchandise, we do carry a lot of the same merchandise, but with our original logo. I also know that we have different merchandise stocked at each location to make sure that we have something different to offer. I apologize that you did not enjoy the 2 mile road on the way up. Thank you for your review and I will forward it to the owner.

It may be a 2 mile drive on gravel, but it is well worth it. Beautiful scenery. T b is is a sister of Shawnee Bluff Winery. Wines are excellent and the names are fun and quite tasty. Great staff.

This place is nostalgic, natural, and great fun. Beautiful view of river from multiple decks, great customer service, lodging is comfortable, and their wines are pretty darn good. Perfect place to watch the sunset then sit around the fire pit. Rented a kayak and they deliver you to the take out and you arrive back at the winery. Employees are a group of amazing people who really make you feel welcome...Ozark hospitality and friendliness extraordinaire!

You will be sure you are lost before you arrive at casa de loco! Hard to get to and a bit of a let down once you arrive. Mother Nature provides the perfect back drop but the accruements are just second best. It just never seems safe, ( (accidents waiting to happen) clean and sanitary. Brick oven pizza is tasty but flies out of control. Good wine selection and gift shop

I am sorry about your recent visit. We do not grow our grapes on site or make our wine onsite, that is correct. However, we do not do it on that site because we have a vineyard location approx. 45 minutes from our location. I sincerely apologize that you did not have a good experience. I will talk with the employees about their customer service. You opinion on our wines is fine, but I would like to clear up any confusion. We have 30 acres in CA where our California wines come from. We make trips 3 times a year. We visit during the 2 harvest seasons, and once to bottle. We participate in all aspects of "making" our wine. We also have contracts with a vineyard in Rocheport, which we work closely with to come up with blends and such to produce our wine. We are very much a winery, just maybe not a winery you are accustomed to. I appreciate your feedback. Feedback helps grow successful businesses.

This is one of our favorite hangouts around the Lake of the Ozarks. We love the Casa Cooler and a pizza. Hang out and relax listening to the outdoors on the bluff deck overlooking the river. It is worth the little extra time to drive to this winery.

This is one of our favorite places to visit to recharge and relax when at the Lake of the Ozarks. Have some Casa Cooler, buy a bottle of Kona Port, and order a pizza to complete a perfect visit. Take time to sit on the deck over looking the Niangua river and just relax listening to the wind blow through the trees.

Heard about this winery from a few people and the title alone made us want to take the drive an give it a try. They weren't kidding when they said it's "off the beaten path". Wow...beautiful views from the decks overlooking the Osage River. They have float trips & rooms available should you imbibe too much and need to stay the night. The people here are friendly & fun! We will be heading back there when the weather warms up so we can sit outside, drink wine, enjoy the view & eat brick oven pizza! If you are a wine snob this is not the place for you. If, however, you like to enjoy the outdoors and visit places with a unique past while enjoying some Missouri wine you will love it here!
