I first heard about The Old World Trader in an article in Rural Missouri magazine. Since then, I looked for an opportunity to stop in Rolla and visit. I finally had that chance recently. It was great. This place is full of ancient artifacts, weapons, rare maps, and other things. Vance spent about an hour (literally) walking me through the inventory and telling me stories about the history behind their products. Obviously, he loves what he does, and it was a fascinating visit. Everything is guaranteed, and the prices are much lower than I expected. You would be amazed at what a $100 bill can purchase. They had a great looking medieval illuminated manuscript leaf, but I ended up leaving with an ancient Egyptian necklace. I highly recommend you find time to visit if you ever find yourself traveling along I-44. The shop is easy to find. It's straight across the street from Applebee's. They have a Website, but I don't think you're supposed to put it in reviews.
