fort charrette historic village

Fort Charrette is a great site to see with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. This is a great place to take your kids and show them a bit of history while also enjoying the incredible views from the property.

Crosby Brown had me do some chores for him around the village many years ago, way before 2011 but that's as far back as the above goes. He's the most knowledgeable person concerning Missouri history I've ever met & always kept the fort & village up wonderfully. I don't think I've ever felt a friendship come so naturally with someone that was an employer. Fort Charette is a great place with great people, full of wonders.

Went with husband, son, and grandson last weekend. We really looked forward to going for several years, (had saved an article from Country Living Magazine for many years), and we were not disappointed when we finally did get around to making it happen. Would recommend Fort Charrette Historical Village to anyone interested in early Missouri history. Really appreciated all the time, love and work that went into Fort Charrette to make it as accurate as possible. Mr. Brown is a wealth of information and very kindly shared much more than we ever would have expected.
