On a road trip from Chicago to New Mexico we passed through Cuba and looked for roadside attractions we could stop at along the way. This was really neat. No one was home when we stopped and I wished they were so I could have talked to them about the history. Only about 5 minutes from I-44 so well worth the detour.

The collection of roadside memorabilia is simply astounding. I wouldn't want to say too much for fear of ruining someone's visit. An absolute must stop for any traveler interested in old highway relics.

Very interesting place to see if you're touring Route 66 or just looking for some nostalgia. Old gas signs, gas pumps and assorted things from the past. Most everything is outside and easy to see.

If you're traveling Route 66 you need to make a stop here. Even if you're not into old signs you'll be glad you did.

Back to the days when Route 66 was the King of roads, with little shops and side shows one had to see. Bob has collected a vast amount of things from our past to bring back those memories of a simpler time. It makes me happy that someone is still preserving our past the way that Bob has done. This is near the Worlds largest Rocking Chair as well, so one could do three things at the same time. Thanks to Bob for a huge effort to keep it simple.

Our time with Robert at Bob's Gasoline Alley was the highlight of our time in Missouri. What a collection!!!! I can't believe how well organized, clean and diverse his treasures are. I have never seen petroliana like this before. He has several buildings of his collections and of course all the neat lawn art. Make an appointment to meet him and his wife Darlene. Easily accessible off Route 66 and one of the most unique things you will see along the way. Truly amazing!

It was closed the day we were there, so we simply took in the pumps from the outside and what we could see on the porch it was pretty neat seeing all the different gas pumps from many many years ago and their progression through the ages. My father owns a gas dock on the water for boats so it was especially interesting for me and i got to take lots of pictures to send to my dad. i would like to go back to check out the inside of the place but i didnt seem super large and i probably got the gist of it from the outside. if your in the area or doing route 66 for the nostaligia its worth a stop over.

I have now been to Bob's gasoline alley several times. Bob and Darlene serve breakfast every year at the Cuba car show. It is the highlight of the show. I believe the place is appointment only. However, if you have a group of 50 or more, they will take your reservation. Bob has one of the largest collections of petromemoribelia I have ever seen. He also has more advertising signs than most stretches of highway. He has die cast cars, peddle cars, and cookie jars. Bob and Dralene collect all kinds of things. If you can get enough of a group together to go there, it is worth it. Even if you can't go in, just the view form I-44 is astonishing. He even lights it all up at night. I'm sure the electric company loves Bob & Darlene.

If you're into old gasoline service station signs from the beginning of motorized travel.... this is a place to see! You have to call Bob for an appointment to see all of his antiques and nostalgia but he'll happily show you around his place for free if he has time. This place was featured on Roadside Attractions (PBS) so I thought you could get in anytime... not true. lol My husband and I didn't know you needed to make reservations but we pulled up outside one of Bob's buildings and got out of the car. Bob met us and told us that we could look all around his house and grounds until the Corvette club showed up for a party they were having. Bob rents his place out for a small fee. VERY popular with the car enthusiasts. He even had food catered for the Corvette club. While the old Corvettes lined up outside, my husband and I walked around the grounds and all through one house and 2 other smaller buildings. ENDLESS nostalgia.... mostly from the 50's. My dad would have loved it.If you're ever traveling down old 66 and find yourself in between Cuba and Fanning... give Bob a call and see if he'll let you check his place out! Why not? It's free (so far) and it's better than sitting home.
