Somewhat tucked away but just off Main Street and near The Gris is your source for terrific breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Ice cream and snacks are also available. You get an old time and small town feeling as you enter this place. Sandwich names and descriptions are on the board or ask for a custom version. There's a bench outside for seating or stroll over to the town dock to watch the boats go by while you enjoy your tasty food.

Great take out foods for lunch or to serve on the boat. A very busy location in the summer months. Awesome local ice cream flavors. Highly recommend.

Was staying in Essex and while waiting to go on the steam train and boat decided to have a bite to eat with friends which is when we took nite of Olive Oyls. The outside is deceiving to how totally cute the inside is. It is brimming with just plain adorableness and you just feel good looking at all their shelves filled with goodies as the deli case draws you in with their wonderful and enticing creative items displayed.I ordered a Greek salad and was incredibly happy with it. The olives in it were so good, as was all of the ingredients. Very fresh. Brimming with taste and flavors. Also ordered one of their homemade lemonades, which was so good I wanted more. It was perfect.I loved in their back room that you could actually fill your own olive oil container and all of the wonderful little items. If back in the area. I would definitely go back and try more of their items.

Best Lunch I've had in a long time! Couldn't decide! Had the Charlie Tuna on Cranberry Walnut Bread, so Fresh and Filling! Lots of variety and they support local food vendors like Ashlawn Farm Coffee. They carry Zapp's Chips which I haven't seen since I've been down south!Yum!!!! 5 Stars!

It can't be beat for sandwiches, baked goods, and its many, many salads. They also serve iced coffee and homemade iced tea, and ice cream that is handmade in Old Lyme. Breakfast sandwiches are incredible, and they get H&H bagels delivered from Brookyln. I love Olive Oyls, it is truly one of my favorite places to get food.

I've come here a few times over the years. I know people that adore the food here. I think it's okay. I like Bun on the Run or Bennies' more though. I ordered lunch here a few weeks ago. I ordered my sandwich toasted... it was toasted when I got it- but it was cold! And the sandwiches were not sufficiently wrapped.... we had to be careful not to lose them out of the wrappers! The sandwiches are not nearly as big as Bun on the Run or Bennie's (but they cost just as much- if not more at Olive Oyl's). I'm not going out of my way to order here again for a while. They sell more than just sandwiches here though. Olive Oyl's is a small gourmet deli shop with lost to offer. I'm just rating them on their lunch sandwiches.

Olive Oyl's makes delicious sandwiches. They have lots of other interesting things there, but we just got some sandwiches to go, and they were amazing.

They have great original sandwich creations with catchy names such as "The Endevour". They also offer other things from salads to complete diners. Of course, they have all the basics too and more. They also have great coffee as well as olive oil and other gifts and sweets. You will not be dissapointed, although it is a little pricey.
