Once upon a time, at this location, there was a quaint little village of buildings full of the most beautiful furniture, rugs, curtains, wall hangings, and accessories I had ever seen! Everything was beautifully displayed in the well kept rooms of the charming village. Now, under new ownership, there is little that remains of what was once considered "the best kept secret in CT". There is a new secret now...the once beloved Marlborough Country Barn is more like a flea market. Full of old stuff and used clothes. The interior looks like it hasn't been cleaned recently and the rooms are cluttered. It was a depressing experience to walk through what had once been one of my favorite places to shop. While you can still purchase some new items, as mentioned in previous reviews, this is no longer a destination for me. The one exception is the restaurant next door, Sadler's Ordinary, which is outstanding in every way!

This is a collection of shops throughout several buildings offering a wide variety of antiques and Americana. I'm pretty sure there is something foe everyone. There is also a restoration store with a large collection of lighting and hardware for all eras. I'm sure I'll be back.

Definitely worth the trip, whether you are an antique lover, re-purpose lover, or just looking to browse and update your décor, or wardrobe. Everything from salvage to re-purposed and consignment furniture, clothing consignment, restoration hardware and lighting, yarn shop, floral shop, jewelry or antique lover-- something there for all tastes. Plan for a few hours and see what you can find. Enough vendors and stores in the multiple buildings-- the inventory changes frequently, so you can go often

An old cabinet door, a piece of vintage trim, a weathered but still colorful shelf. It’s filled with treasures - sports memorabilia, signs, wooden crates, advertising pieces, clocks – you name it. Hand-painted and distressed to look like architectural antiques, each piece of Just Richies repurposed artistry is an inspired answer to the question of where to put hats, scarves, leashes, and other things that need a place to hang out.Meant to be for Me carries a variety of antiques, vintage items and collectibles that appeal to both men and women will particularly like this space. Karen is always out collecting and creating new things for her space. So much to see - this spot is a treasure trove for sure! Then eat right there at Sadler's for fresh comfort food.

You have to take a day to travel out to the Marlborough Barn - it has been resurrected and its better than it ever was! It is now an eclectic collection of antique dealers that have everything you can imagine from restored/repainted furniture to antiques, collectibles, lighting fixtures, etc - you name it! They also have beautiful new items like clothing, jewelry, etc. There's a clothing and furniture consignment shop there as well. We finished our day with lunch at Sadler's Ordinary where we picked from their Octoberfest menu (in October obviously) and we sat on the outdoor patio. Oh, and did I mention there's a candy counter for kids? Take a day trip - you'll be glad you did!

The Shops at Marlborough Barn are so much fun. I love browsing through antiques and this place has a ton. There are different vendors and a variety of things here. You can find antiques, vintage, furniture, gifts and the buildings seem to go on forever. Lots of variety - there is also a restaurant on the property for lunch, etc. I'd recommend for anyone who loves to shop for antiques and collectibles. Oh, I'm checking off one to two hours but it may take longer to see everything.
