The CT Science Center is a great attraction for kids 2-12 (although 3-10 is even better). The first floor will keep your toddler busy - they wont want to leave the water kingdom that awaits. The rest of the floors (floors 2-4) are full of exciting, fun and interactive things that your kids will love. Stimulating, funny, etc - they have a good food court too on the 1st floor with sandwiches, etc and a gift shop full of things to buy. Fun thing to do with the kids/family!

This is a little pricey for some ($17?), but...there's hands-on "stuff" for the whole family, that'll entertain/interest everyone. My wife and I and grands have been there at least three times.

The water room is great for the under 7 crowd. Bring a change of clothes just in case! There are bathrooms in every exhibit area so look for those instead of returning to the lobby. We are members and enjoy going at least quarterly. It can get very crowded on weekends and holidays from school. The movies are not always suitable for young children. For example, my 6 year old daughter was freaked out by microscopic dust mites, etc. on a huge imax screen! Didn't want to get in her bed.

I think it is a bit over priced for the exhibits. Big spread out, but really not much there. Clean, well lit. Cafe okay. Parking easy.

We had a wonderful experience for a 6th Bday party! Great hosts, great Bday room, wonderful new exhibit. Also very reasonably priced ($300 for 30 people, kids + adults for members, 350 for non members).

This weekend was my second visit to the science center. I enjoyed every minute of it educational and fun for families. I went with my husband daughter son in law 3 yr old grandson and 7 month old grandaughter. We all had a great time. All the exhibits were engaging for young children and adults as well. Affordable and they have have memberships and many discounts offered through local businesses. My grandson loves the space, robotics ,Lego exhibits and the water play area is a good way to end the tour. There was enough stimulation for my 7 month old Grandaughter to enjoy the tour also, I would recommend this place for parent, grandparents or anyone with children to visit it's well worth it. I know I'll be back!

I was visiting the city for the weekend with my 2 children age 8 and 7. We opted out of the 3D movie there but wished we got it at the end of our visit. The center is 6 stories high with 2 sections on each floor. The center had all sorts of themed rooms to explore and learn about from space to the human body. Since it is winter the garden was closed for the season. There is a subway connected to the museum and the prices were not bad at all! My children and I spent a total of 5 hours there. The greatest part was that we went through all the rooms, went to lunch at Subway then went to all the rooms again. The only thing I would complain about was that 30% of the stations were closed until 12:30pm. I would recommend going at 12:30pm in case you didn't wanted to wait around to get the full experience. Otherwise, great museum and highly recommend.

I have been here multiple times with a variety of age groups from my 18 month old son to my 5th grade class of 11 yr olds and this place is fun for everyone!!! There are so many hands on activities for all ages to enjoy. If you plan to visit with a younger child bring them a change of clothes as they will certainly want to play at the water station and will get wet! This place is a must for anyone with kids. It is a bit pricey but the hours of fun to be had is worth the price!

We enjoyed visiting the science center. Spent a good 4 hours there with a 7 & 9 year old. Very much geared toward the kids. Staff was very friendly and interactive. Seemed very clean & Not too overwhelming in size. Informative and hands-on. Our family really had a great day. The only negative was probably the 3-D movie, I would skip this next time. Worth a visit if you haven't been.

There isn't much to do in the downtown core of Hartford on the weekends but this science center is a pretty cool attraction that is great way to spend the afternoon. I went with my wife (no kids) and although some of the exhibits were meant for children, there was enough cool things to keep adults busy for 2-3 hours. Some of the areas seemed a bit dated but others were brand spanking new with interesting topics to learn about. Prepare to have no shame & do activities set up for kids to ensure you get the most out of your visit!

Haven't been there for over a year - shouldn't wait that long since they are always changing some things so there is always something new to check out. A bit pricy to get in but you can spend as long as you want there. Several floors and rooms to have fun in and also learning is great for kids.

Took my 3 boys ages 6yo, 9yo and 14yo here with grandparents. Had a nice visit though admission price is a little expensive. Only took about 2-3 hours to go through entire museum and visit different attractions. Once have seen it no since in going back.

We took our 3 girls here ages 13, 5 and 3. We went in March as we had our Mystic Aquarium membership so as a perk, admission to the CT science center was free that month. So we figured we'd give it a try and we were so glad we did!! As soon as you walk in there's so much to see and do. Each room had its own theme, there's about 4 floors and approx 16-20rooms. There was water play, sports room, air play with balls and scarves, building room, reptiles you can pet, there's too many to name but each room was fun not only for my little ones, but my teenager as well as us! Plan on spending the whole day here as there's so much to do!! You won't be disappointed! If you plan on going to the gift shop, I recommend doing that at the beginning of the visit as it stays packed (literally) the whole hour before closing resulting in a 30 minute check out! So the kids started to get tired of waiting after being exhausted from playing all day. If you get hungry there's a subway downstairs but that's pretty much it for food/beverage.

Let me start off by saying that we visited on a Saturday, and while there were plenty of people visiting I wouldn't say that it was "packed". Also, I didn't find any exhibits that were not working as other people have complained. We were spending a day from out of town, so I checked ahead and was able to print a coupon for 20% off regular admission. This combined with the reduced movie fee I paid when I purchased tickets later proved to be a good value. I must also mention that the cafeteria here is a Subway, and this was BY FAR the cheapest museum meal we have ever had!As mentioned, my son is 8 and my daughter is 15. They are both into science and this was not our first trip to a science museum. While there is not quite as much to do as a place like the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, it is also not as expensive and can be seen in one whole day. We were in the center from open to close, saw one IMAX movie, and explored almost everything here. My kids LOVED it. They have never been to a museum that they didn't enjoy, but the hands-on type places are especially wonderful for my son. There is so much to see, hear, smell, try, touch... there were plenty of small children running around having a ball!

We had a great time with our 8-year-old and met a large group of friends with kids from 3-years to 12. Everyone had a super time. We were there for the whole day and no one was ever bored. There are lots and lots of hands-on exhibits.
