My wife and I played in late October on a stop ahead of a vacation to the Outer Banks of NC. So very glad we did. We only had time for a single round, so we opted to play the Palmer Course. Not cheap, but like any high-end facility open to the public, you get the "country club" treatment and it's worth it. Course was in excellent shape. Greens rolled true and were in very nice condition. The course's layout was challenging and aesthetically beautiful. Arnie did a really nice job on this one. You need to keep your head in the game on every hole. You need to be aware of fairway slopes and fairway bunkers. If you take it for granted, you'll be punished. Every hole is different. You don't feel like you're ever playing the same hole twice. Four sets of tees makes it playable for all handicaps. Nice warm up range, putting and chipping area. Pro shop guy was pleasant. Ranger was exceptionally helpful with pointers about playing the course. We grabbed a bite to eat in the clubhouse afterwards and the food was decent and well prepared, nothing to write home about, but certainly nothing worthy of any complaint. The day was overcast, with some wind and spotty showers, but the course played well in less than great weather conditions. I carry a 17 handicap and I never felt overmatched, but definitely challenged. There are homes around the course, but they never came into play and are not intrusive. Would like to go back and try the tougher Nicklaus course. By the way, check out Cape Charles while you're at it -- a great little shore town with a growing restaurant scene, a great public beach and dock. AGR

Great experience from the moment that you arrive and are greeted by friendly staff to help with your bags, smooth check in, and escort to the first tee. The starter sent us off with the most important fact about the course which was "remember to have fun." There are rock star practice facilities including grass hitting area, unlimited free range balls, and a short game/putting area. It is so nice that after 18 holes on a warm sunny day we stayed and hit more balls. The club house has a nice indoor and outdoor seating area and although we didn't dine there it looks like a good option.Palmer course: this is the friendlier of the two courses with respect to playability. The front nine has more bay views but the entire course is quite beautiful and scenic. The course is friendly to the eye with playable lines. The greens are in great condition and roll true.Nicklaus course: this is not as friendly of a course with respect to playability unless you like hitting exactly where you are supposed to hit it every stroke. Mr Jack likes sand, and there are a lot of bunkers and waste areas with sand on virtually every hole. The bay views are mesmerizing and there are several holes that are along the beach. If you are staying locally and not at the resort you are eligible for discounted green fees if you stay at preferred lodging facilities. After shooting low scores on the Palmer course we were a little bitter with Nicklaus after shooting not as low scores :/Will be back.

We had a beautiful day golfing on the eastern shore. The staff was very friendly. We had lunch that was delicious. Everyone moved well and we finished in regulation. This has always been a wonderful facility and today was the Arnold Palmer course. The water views are incredible.

These golf courses are beautiful. One designed by Jack and the other by Arnie. Both are different and they both roll through the countryside and right by the Chesapeake Bay. Plenty of traps, and water hazards and it has always been meticulously maintained. Its among my favorite resorts to golf.

It's a beautiful course with some manageable and very challenging holes. The Coach Grille is a great place to get a bite after 9 or 18 or for dinner. Very reasonable rates for such a nice course.

We played both courses and enjoyed them both very much! They both had interesting layouts with a lot of variety among the holes and beautiful views of the water! They were both in excellent condition and even though it was a weekend, were not overly crowded. The service in the golf shop was excellent, though the service at the restaurant was not great. It took a long time to get our food, and since we ordered it to go, we did not realize that they had messed up our order (we got a completely different dish) until we got back to our hotel and it was too late.

Have often driven by Cape Charles exit on Route 13 and heard of Bay Creek golf. stopped to play both Nicklaus and Palmer courses.Reception was very good, prices were fair. Practice facilities were very good and we thoroughly enjoyed our Nicklaus course experience. We got rained out of the Palmer course after 9 holes but liked the course as well. Some very picturesque holes on both courses,Lucky for us it was not busy.Definitely on our do again list.

My husband wanted to look at the golf courses, and the gatekeeper gave us a visitors pass. Beautiful. The host at the Golf Shop was very welcoming and told us about the history of the area.

We stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and were one of only two table occupied. Our server, while mentioning that she was new, visited our table 4 times in the first 10 minutes in a rush to take our order then ignored us for nearly half an hour. When our food did arrive it was very plain fare but nothing much to talk about. The portions were way too large but the price was reasonable.

We drove about 5 hours from NJ to get here. I wanted to take my son somewhere nice for a golf weekend. The golf is as picturesque and nice as the website. I couldn't get over how many holes were on the Chesapeake. Really pretty. Took a lot of pictures. We played both courses. The carts are GPS equipped that helped a lot with ball distance, but didn't help at all when trying to figure out where to turn and find the next hole. It was a maze and at one point, passed two other carts with lost people asking me how to get to their own hole. Fairways and greens were like carpet. I love the driving range. We like to go to Sea Pines on Hilton Head, and before your round they give you a tiny bag of 20 or so balls to hit at the range. Bay Creek as unlimited balls on the range, you just walk up an hit away. It is nice.Food at the Pub was great. Service good.Price was up there. But overall, it is worth what you pay.

Excellent courses and awesome staff. Played the Palmer course twice and it was awesome! Recommend a lesson with the club pro!

Beautiful setting with a gorgeous golf course and private beach. The condo was spacious, clean and well equipped, incl WIFI. I little pricey considering the location but it is a really nice resort. Hope it doesn't become to crowded as the place develops. We will definitely go again.

Played the Bay Creek Amateur this past weekend which is a 36 hole event, eighteen holes on either course. I think there were around 170 people registered and the courses and staff could have easily handled more. The courses were in great shape and running around a 11.5-12 on the stint meter according to the assistant pro. It took me the better part of two rounds to get used to greens that quick. Both courses are side by side and the Palmer course being the easier of the two. The Nicklaus course had a bunch of waste areas and smaller greens and was in a little better shape. Two holes on the Palmer course has a couple of areas of ground under repair and one green was up to the standard of the other 35. But I would recommend this place, and event, to anyone to play and stay.

2 courses - both signature of Nicklaus and Palmer. Can play difficult, but the beauty is worth it!!! Several holes located on bay. Others along creeks and treed areas. Coach House Tavern is consistently good. Soon to have members only fitness center and pools. One course is reserved for members only until 11:00 am. Don't miss an opportunity to play here.

For the tenth straight year , I drove down from Chincoteague to play the great courses at Bay Creek, and, as usual, the courses were great. I played the Nicklaus Course and loved it. Hardly anybody playing on a Monday afternoon, so I played by myself in a little over 2 hours. These are both outstanding courses. The Nicklaus Course is a bit more difficult, but those holes along the Chesapeake can make you forget that. If you love great golf courses, make the trek to Bay Creek.
