Great rustic, relaxing location surrounded by the wonderful friendly town of Edinburg, Virginia. Great museum located in a historic mill with a great gift shop. the mill is located right on the river which is usually filled with ducks and geese that love being fed. Plenty of free parking.

A great museum in the town of Edinburg. Located in the Mill added great character to an extensive collection that spans 3 floors of the mill. One could easily spend a couple of hours looking through the collections that chronicle over 250 years of history in the Shenandoah Valley. Well maintained with a well stocked gift store and very helpful and knowledgable staff.

Extensive local history with a focus on the Civil War period. Very good little video on much of the history. Outstanding Red Cross collection on display. It can take you a few hours to cover all they have to offer. The restaurant will be interesting and fair size on the lower level. Very helpful attending staffers.

We were on a business trip in the area and decided to stop in. Lovely restoration! The stream was lovely and peaceful as well. The ducks were entertaining and it was a great place to just relax for a few minutes. We plan on stopping by again on the next trip.

You have a chance to go back in time and the opportunity (charge) to see the movie," The Burning". We were in the area for a family reunion and saw some of our relatives names in the documentation.. The folks are really friendly

How wonderful this historic mill has been kept alive. Very interesting . . . and very fun to browse through the antiques and collectibles. Best of all, we love the flock of ducks that may often be found in the parking lot!

The Mill is well worth a visit while in the Valley. It had been many things including a fine restaurant but they have done an amazing job in making it a place to get information.

This museum is a true gem! Someone put a lot of thought into the organization of the displays and artifacts. You can't beat the price! $2.00 donation if you go to the upstairs displays and film. (We gave a little more because we felt it was worth it.) Glad to see the elevators for the ones who have trouble negotiating steps.There is local history/mill history. It also includes Red Cross memorabilia Rooms that depict the different businesses/homes/transportation and aspects of life in this area. It is truly beautifully done. I don't know what I expected but was truly surprised at what we saw. The people working in the museum were locals with ties to the history of the area. There is a film, The Burning. I'm sure some may find it interesting but I would rather spend my time in the museum! However, if your knees and feet need a short respite, watch the film until you're ready to go again.

The mill was saved from burning during the Civil War. The continued interest of the townspeople had made it into an amazing Museum. From the crafts for sale to the 'storefronts' of the community and the wares displayed, it gives you a picture of the history of the town. Only $2.00 to visit the second and third flooor and please take the time to see the movie "The Burning" It is 45 minutes well spnt to get an idea of the distruction and suffering the Shenandoah suffered. You will look at the whole valley and the homes and descents in a whole different way.It is close to Interstate 81 and a good time to get off the ratrace!

Loaded with character, the historic Edinburg Mill is being operated as a museum. It's full of interesting artifacts that do a great job telling the history of both the mill and the local area. They have an excellent movie about the destruction of the Shenandoah Valley during the Civil War known as "The Burning". The mill no longer functions, but many of its components are on display. At $2.00, the admission is very, very reasonable. There is a large gift shop that has a very eclectic selection of products, including souvenirs, books and artwork. Overall, the Edinburg Mill is worth a visit. It's a fascinating historic site and a great museum.

Stopped by this place after seeing the sign on the interstate and it was a wonderful surprise! Great collection of history, historical building, friendly staff, great displays, and an impressive gift shop. So glad they've capture the history of the town and region in this little gem of a place! The ducks along the riverside parking lot were a treat to see too!

The Edinburg Mill is a museum of local history, a structure set afire by federal troops during the War for Southern Independence. "The Burning" is a 45 minute film that chronicles U.S. Gen. Phil Sheridan's attack on the civilians of the Shenandoah Valley during the War Between The States. Pay two dollars apiece for the movie and spend some time in the museum. It is well worth the time and effort. Delightful place. It is a MUST see if you want to understand the hardships endured by civilians during the Federal Invasion of 1861-65 and why this war is still spoken of in the South... And the place is haunted by a little boy killed in an accident over a hundred years ago!!!! Say hello to him!!

It's easy to spend an hour or more at the Edinburg Mill. The displays have been lovingly constructed and tell wonderful storeis. You'll learn tid-bits of history that you probably never encountered in a history class.
