My wife and I as well as our newly-wed daughter and now son-in-law and his parents could not have picked a better venue to celebrate their much-awaited wedding on October 25, 2014. There are so many reasons why we say this: Clover Forest is a hidden gem, the epitome of the famous Southern charm and comfort. It is such a perfect wedding venue for its history, beautiful panoramic setting and top-notch amenities, highly-professional staff and excellent food and service. And while the staff did not really have control over the weather (which turned out to be a glorious 72 degrees when the ceremony started at around 4 PM, a rarity that time of year), it could have been a cold and rainy day and you and your staff would still have made the big difference that weekend. It would be perfect even for just a weekend getaway. The two families of the bride and groom enjoyed the warm and comfortable beds and the abundance of luxurious fluffy towels and robes that in themselves would have been enough to give all of us that “royal” feeling .But wait there’s more: We would not know the efficient and friendly staff is actually in the house were it not for the smell of a sumptuous breakfast cooking in the downstairs kitchen. The smell of freshly-brewed coffee and cinnamon rolls just off the oven is enough to wake everyone up for the before the “scheduled breakfast” trek down to the lavishly-furnished library, which was also the setting for a mouth-watering 3-course breakfast of our choice that starts with freshly-squeezed orange juice, yummy yogurt with granola and fresh fruits, followed by croissants and biscuits (also hot off the oven) with butter and home-made apricot jam and ends with a frittata of peas, peppers and ham and made-from-scratch potato hash. Of course, juice and coffee and teas are totally on the house. The most impressive part of that weekend was how the staff managed the whole wedding planning with the efficacy comparable to having at least 10 full-time staff. From the time we decided to book the plantation back in December of 2013 until the day of the wedding itself some ten or so months later, all the details were taken care of within the agreed upon timeline. Even our daughter who was so into timelines was very impressed so we are not fibbing when we say she and her husband were so impressed with how and when the staff communicated with her the whole time.On behalf of everyone who had a great time at Clover Forest, thanks once again to their wonderful staff for being part of what we consider a perfect wedding. We could not have pulled it off without them. We already have plans of celebrating my daughter and her husband’s first wedding anniversary next year!
