Well worth the visit especially if your found to tour the house at Morven Park the tickets are combined. This museum is fantastic with a huge variety of curious carriages of all types, sizes and purposes. Wanna find something the kids have never seen? This is it.

Included in the ticket for visiting the Morven Estate, this museum is unique with its expansive collection of horse-drawn carriages. It is nicely laid out with carriages sorted by function (commerce, travel, etc.) so that there is opportunity to compare and contrast the variety available to our forefathers and foremothers. The collection is very well maintained with a series of explanatory notes scattered throughout. A surrey with a fringe on the top and a sleigh designed to go through the woods to grandma's house will stir a song of two that gives a romantic character to this type of travel. Not to be missed!

This private collection is magnificent; collected through their travels around the globe. All are beautifully maintained and displayed and a must see if in the area.

We were attending a wedding dinner at the Carriage Museum. As a result, I cannot speak to fees or hours of operation. The museum has a beautiful collection of old horse drawn carriages. If you are touring the estate, the carriage museum is a must see. The following comment has nothing to do with the museum. After our dinner at the museum, we went to the lawn of the mansion to watch the July 4th fire works. It is a lovely vantage point to see local as well as distant fireworks. Only problem was after, the traffic jam leaving the estate and the local park was terrible. It took nearly an hour to drive 4 miles.

Beautifully maintained carriages and sleighs collected from before they were replaced by the automobile era. A gem to visit if you are in the Leesburg, VA area. A gem, but most people are not aware it exists. A fairly long walk from the Morven Park parking lot. Combine with your visit to the Morven Estate. Home of former VA Gov Westmoreland Davis.

This museum was given at the same time as the mansion and hounds and hunting tour. It was in a large warehouse type room. It was filled with lots of different types of carriages. It was interesting to look at them, some restored and others still in the old condition. Sorry, no pictures to add as you can't take pics in this museum or inside the mansion.
