This is a very, very new winery that opened in Oct 2014, so don't be put off by the churned earth as you approach. Their enormous tasting room has both wood plank floors and ceiling, wonderful large fireplace, and boasts music on the weekend. We tried 6 wines (and a mulled wine) for $8- we found these good, but the ski-lodge like ambiance was wonderful, and we'll look forward to returning and sampling future vintages!

The wines are exquisite and the inside is beautiful and welcoming. The owners are welcoming and very knowledgeable.

Enjoyed wine tasting, Ann was both friendly and informative. Mulled wine by the fireside was perfect for a cold winter day.

We stopped here after leaving the Warrenton Airport, and were totally surprised by the excellence of this winery. There isn't a huge wine menu as of yet, but all the wines available are very good. The owner is very visible and very eager to answer any questions. My husband and I are both looking forward to what this winery has to offer as it grows. They have a beautiful tasting room, and on a cold day the gorgeous fireplace is a great place to warm up. If you love Virginia Wines, you have to visit!

My first visit to this new winery was a few weeks after it opened up in late October 2014. It was mid week on a Wednesday. As I approached the winery it was obvious that it is a work in progress. As I entered the building I was greeted by Jay who is the owner. He was in the loft doing carpentry work. He stopped what he was doing and came down from the loft. I did a wine tasting that day and I have been hooked ever since! Jay made me feel like I was part of his family. I had great conversation with Jay and learned a lot about he and his family, the winery and the wines they have to offer. They currently have 5 to choose from. There are 2 whites and 3 reds. I am a red wine guy but I have to tell you that they are all great. If I had to choose my favorite it would have to be the 2012 Equidae. I have been back to this winery five to six more times since that first visit usually mid week and each and every time I get the same awesome greeting and friendlyservice. I enjoy the crackling of the logs in the fireplace, the breeze of that "Big A" ceiling fan ,the great wines and great conversation with Jay. The place still has lots of carpentry work before it is 100% complete and it is still a great place. It's going to be even greater than once it's all done. AWESOME WINERY!

I found this place because I was at another winery, they had a brochure, and said that the grand opening was that same day. The facility is still under construction but the wine is good and the staff are fantastic. I became a member that first visit and look forward to going back for each "shipment" pickup. I brought my grown daughter and friends to the Christmas party and recommend on Facebook whenever I checkin on my page.

For such a new winery, you can see the potential. It's exciting tho see the progress of the grounds, tasting room and most importantly the wine, each time we return. The friendly staff makes every visit a pleasure!

My husband and I stopped by this place on our way out to Fauquier County to visit some other wineries. It was included on our 2015 Virginia Wine Pass so we got 2 for 1 tastings. The tasting room is expansive with a massive ceiling fan (that my husband took immediate notice of). We were greeted by the owner who was extremely pleasant. He gave us our tasting and thoroughly explained each wine. We enjoyed the Over the Fences and Merlot. The building and property are both under construction. The owner is in the process of putting in some new vines and finishing the events room. We hope to go back a little later this year to see the progress.

This brand new winery is definitely the start of something very good. The building, although still in the works, is massive and beautiful crafted by the owner, which is impressive. The deck is huge and boasts beautiful view of the woods. I side , the large tasting room has a massive fireplace that the owner keeps cranked up with wood during the weekends. Large windows fold the place with light that filters through the trees, adding to the beauty of the building. The wines....all of them winners! The owner has put a lot of work and thoughtfulness into to crafting all of his varieties. It becomes a challenge to pick a favorite. Once the building and grounds are finished, this will be a beautiful place to reserve for events. It will definitely be in the. Top of my radar if I need a venue for a special occasions. This place is a must visit in your bucket list of wineries! We have gone back twice since our first visit and fall in love with it all over again!

Virginia has two wineries with similar names. This is Grey Horse Vineyards located on 35 acres in the beautiful rolling hills of Virginia, in Midland, VA. Brand new building that is lovely but still getting the finishing touches. The deck is still being finished too but will be lovely when the weather warms up. Do be advised that the trip from the parking lot to the building is up a pretty steep gravel road with no handrails. If you have difficulty walking or handicapped I am not sure how you get in (perhaps through the delivery entrance?)Walk-in tastings for groups of fewer than 8 guests are $8.00 per guest. Tasting fees for groups of 8 guests or more are $10.00 per guest, with advance reservations required.. VIP Tastings are available for guests. They include a full wine tasting, a glass of wine, a souvenir wine glass, and a tour of the vineyard and winery. The web site says you can bring in your own munchies or they have hummus or cheese that you can purchase. The lady doing the pouring was very friendly and helpful. The owner was also there but very busy talking to another future winemaker so we never actually chatted with him. My husband enjoyed his red wine. They only have two white wines and the one I tried was a little dry for my taste but then I like pretty sweet white wines like a Riesling. Will definitely go back especially when we can enjoy the deck.
