Wow. Law enforcement officer hanging out at the bar, in uniform. We didn't sample any wines TO TAKE HOME. Nor did we feel inclined to go visit the distillery and sample anything there. Felt like a trap to me. Was not going to drink over the limit, although that was addressed while we were there. Yikes. Way to make someone paranoid. Not a relaxing day off... Even without wine involved.

A friend and I went to Marion, VA for a wedding. Marion is a rather small town, with not much to do. Luckily, we stumbled upon this vineyard about 10 miles from our hotel. The wine was refreshing, we sat in the grass and enjoyed the beautiful view on a warm summer afternoon. The owners were very friendly. Definitely would recommend this place!

Nice selection of white and red wines. The tasting room is large and the tasting room host was very friendly and informative. He suggested one of the red wines was really good in brownies in place of the water. Haven't tried it yet but I intend to with orange flavored olive oil. The winery sits on a huge hill with the vineyard spreads out below it. The views of the Virginia mountains are spectacular. Small area with tables outside of the production facilities and a couple of tables and chairs outside the tasting room for enjoying a glass or bottle of wine. As I learned on this trip a few really nice wineries in southwestern Virginia are just a hop skip and a jump off I-81, and this is one of them.
