After a few prior stops on a casual wine tour, Wisteria stands out as friendly, unpretentious, relaxed and with good wines. We did the tasting, bought several bottles, enjoyed the live music playing on the grounds and walked about visiting the friendly animals in the yard and surrounding fields. Will definitely be back!

This was a quaint farm, hidden in the mountains. Modest and charming, the staff are friendly and the wine tasting and prices are quite reasonable. Farm life (sheep and chickens) abound and you can sit on a swing under the grape arbor and take in the scenery. This place has a wonderful backstory...make sure you go to hear it!!

We stopped here after visiting Luray Caverns. The tasting fee is $8 per person. They had some very nice wines and we ended up purchasing a few. We also got a couple of glasses of wine and walked through the farm down to Hawksbill Creek at the back of the property. It was a very pleasant afternoon. The only downside was that the chicken barn had a rather powerful odor. Luckily it doesn't follow you all the way to the creek!

While visiting the Shenandoah Valley, I recommend stopping by Wisteria Farm and Vineyard. There is live music sometimes on the weekends. It is a great place to bring a picnic lunch, enjoy some good wine, and spend time with the ones you love. The wine tasting menu changes throughout the year depending on what is available. In the cooler months, you can come in and sit by the fire and enjoy your wine in a nice cozy location.

My husband & I stopped here while staying in Luray. We did the 5 tastings for $8 and had a few glasses outside. Most of the wine was good & the grounds were really pretty. We enjoyed checking out the different animals that were hanging out.

Showed up at this old farm house expecting to have the usual stuffy wine tasting. Instead we were welcomed like old friends! Plenty of people there enjoying their purchases with some cheese and crackers. Would be a frequent visitor here if it wasn't 6 hours away. Instead I'll treasure the wine I bought there and think of Wisteria with fond memories when I open a bottle.

We have a little get away in Stanley and usually spend our time with friends having "done" all the historic sites. Finally, we made a left rather than right turn to follow the Vineyard sign that was pretty much under our noses for years. I would say the odds of being impressed by a local vineyard are roughly 50-50; and this is not merely based on personal experience but derived by chatting with wine enthusiasts wherever I happen to be. Wisteria gets high marks because they offer a wide variety of options and are all good quality. A noble effort at an ice wine (not quite up to the challenge of the Ontario Inniskillin), a decent Chardonnay, a respectable Merlot, and a few others that reflect someone's craftsmanship, Concurrency between the tasting sheet and the actual product was refreshing so that the underlying truthfulness gave the establishment added credibility. The person who conducted the tasting was delightful and the atmosphere generated friendliness.

We love it here! Great small, family vineyard to visit with friends! The owners are Wonderful. Sometimes there is live entertainment as well.

Nice stop in Stanley. We enjoyed learning about the different wines during the tasting. We purchased and sipped a bottle on the tranquil grounds, that overlook the vineyards and farm. You can also purchase hummas and crackers to go along with your wine.

Although they really don't grow most of their grapes, I did find the wines delightful and the atmosphere fantastic. The owner was very friendly and they were having a Christmas open house when we were there. It seems like a lot of the locals come to drink and hang out. Fun!

The vineyard has a wonderful space to sit and drink wine in the peaceful setting of a small farm. Very nice staff. The wine was very good. We were the only people there so had a leisurely tasting and then enjoyed a bottle sitting in the shade on the side porch.

This was a nice find in Shenandoah Valley. The tasting room is small, but nice. The staff were very helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable. The tasting was quite enjoyable and the staff gave us a lot of laughs. The wines were good and offered some very unique characteristics to them. The chardonnay and traminette are two of of the better wines I've had when comparing them to other wineries. This is also a working farm with animals. When you're done tasting spend some time and enjoy the mountain view and take in the farm life. It is well worth a visit.

Many places in the Virginia area are very commercial - not so here. You will feel at home in this cozy little area at the end of the road. Unlike many, your dog is not welcome but you have two gorgeous working dogs to fill that void. They greet you in the driveway and then courteously allow you to sample at your own pace (though they may return for another pat if you sit out on the deck with that specially chosen glass of wine!) this is a very intimate tasting area inside, fire warming you, with an outdoor area for larger groups. We took the walking tour to enjoy the roosters, chickens and sheep. I really enjoyed the farm atmosphere and friendly service - this isn't a corporate franchise, it's someone dream come true and all there for you to enjoy! Oh - and the wines are very good! Nice blends and a very smooth steel Chardonnay. Stop in on your way to or from Luray Caverns, very convenient and well worth the trip.

Wisteria is a nice, little winery in Stanley, VA... just outside of Luray. When we got there they were crushing freshly picked grapes to make grape juice which would soon be turned into wine. They showed us this process and taught us what they do. This was very interesting! The tasting went very well as they have a nice selection of whites, which is what we were looking for. They also have reds. After we bought a bottle, they said we could walk their trails and hang out by the creek. They have great trails with picnic tables along them going back to the creek all the way in the rear of the property. It's a great hidden location and a great, secluded location if you're enjoying a bottle of wine and want some privacy.
