We only had about 2 hours to spend in Roanoke-you really need to a lot more time. There were interesting stores to shop and street vendors as well. Parking was easy to find in the parking garage-it is free on Saturday until 4 p.m. Interesting places to eat but we left the center city and had dinner at the Tap Room-good food and reasonable. Enjoy your visit, there is a wide range of accommodations in the city if you need to stay over night. Have fun!

The new market area is outstanding. Downtown Roanoke is up and coming. Plenty of activities during the day and night. I really like the effort the city is putting into this area.

A very pleasant day strolling around the City Market - The vendors had some great items for sale and fresh produce! The little shops were cute, too!

This was a fun daytime stroll; I think there might be more on weekends but I was there on a week day. Lots of opportunities for holiday shopping.

Last weekend, we again visited Roanoke. We travel 100 miles to repeatedly visit this area. One of the best parts of our visit is going to the downtown market. This is right in the center of downtown near several parking areas. Handmade soaps, jewelry, pastries, vegetables, plants, etc. What is so nice is the number of boutiques and restaurants within the area. And for the guys in your life, an Orvis store. Don't miss the Market Square building, which houses many small restaurants. Another fun time to go is during their St. Patrick's Day celebration. It has a small town celebration feel. Be aware that even though Roanoke is in the mountains, it can be very cold or very hot, so check the weather forecast before going.

Roanoke is a lovely place and downtown Roanoke is charming. The City market has local grown veggies, art work etc. Also there are all type of niche shops and restaurants.

This was my first visit to Roanoke and so my first visit to the City Market. I cannot speak to anything except the fresh juice they offer. It was not only refreshing and delicious, but was also priced extremely reasonably at $6 for 12 oz. or $7 for 16oz. my fella and I went twice in a 24 hour period since the juice was so wonderful.I did scope out the menu while we were there and it is extensive. Looks like they serve every kind of coffee or tea beverage as well as a variety of sandwiches, wraps and breakfast all day! I was impressed by their selection of vegan options, too.

When in Roanoke we regularly patronize the City Market purchasing vegetable, fresh breads, plants, etc. We particularly enjoy the Table 50 Restaurant located in the market.

We visit Roanoke annually, and had been waiting for the rehab to finish so we could resume enjoying this gem in downtown Roanoke. The rehab certainly looks good, but there's maybe a third of the vendors that were here previously. On the upside, that means its easy to find a seat to enjoy your meal. But I miss some of the vendors who aren't here any more. TIP: Public restrooms are available, and are clean.

We liked the location and the fact that there are several restaurants and stores around so you can visit the market, get lunch and shop for a while. There are lots of produce and meat vendors and I look forward to going back with a plan for all of the fresh goodies.

I always enjoy walking around downtown there is so much to see. The market has many things to offer just about anyone.

Although many towns have bigger downtown markets, the City Market in Roanoke is really a nice place to spend Saturday morning. There are enough farm venders to get fresh stuff. Also, there are some good restaurants at the market and in the nearby area. And, there are quite a few interesting historical buildings in and around the market.

This place brings back memories and I am so glad I can share it with my little one. Fresh fruits and vegetables, arts and crafts and specialty stores show the culture and richness of Roanoke. A must see.

City market is a developing area with several cute shops, an excellent chocolate/card shop, bakery (note it closes early) and several vendors on weekends with farm goods and crafts. One thing we noticed and enjoyed was the welcome atmosphere, as well as the ease in parking. We looked forward to visiting the area again and anticipate it will continue to expand as future improvements are completed.
