This venue had plenty of seating. I did not check out the balcony area. Dressing area was large enough for our large group. It had a historical feel to the building.

We went so see the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. Parking was easy and free. There is a small bar area that serves beer, wine and mixed drinks. They also have a few snacks and soda. Of course none of this can be taken inside the auditorium. Very attentive and courteous ushers. Seats were comfortable.

my husband and children recently went there for an Ethan Bortnick concert and found it to be a wonderful intimate concert experience in a clean and elegant environment. My family enjoyed it so much we have already booked another concert there for next spring.

We saw The Celtic Women perform here and they put on a fabulous show! The only downside was the bathrooms were in disrepair and there were long lines to use them.

The seats in the balcony are too close together, no legroom at all. Acoustics were not great, seemed like the sound needed adjusting

Downside, parking. But Roanoke has yet to learn how to handle parking. That is the downside to this city. If you want to have more attendees, more clients, more sales, etc...you need customers. In order to get them, YOU NEED TO SUPPLY THEM WITH PARKING AND FREE PARKING AT THAT. So who knows when that will catch on. Meanwhile, if you don't mind hiking to their door, the Jeff Ctr does offer a decent array of choices in entertainment. Much needed in this area, and much appreciated by this person.

Yep, you heard right ... you can now attend church service at the Jefferson Center on Sunday mornings. Sure beats holding Sunday School in a hotel lobby/breakfast area.

I adore the Jefferson Center. It's a small venue with a lot of character, great sound, good location. The only downside I can think of is parking, it can be a challenge and the neighborhood can be a bit daunting at nighttime.

This is the best concert venue in Roanoke. We recently saw folk/Americana singer songwriters Darrell Scott and Tim O'Brien in concert. The room is attractive and comfortable, the sound quality is fine, and we had a wonderful time. Our arena rock days are behind us, but we are still interested in live music. Shaftman auditorium at the Jefferson Center gives us a place to go.

Thank you for your dedication as a Season Ticket Holder. We look forward to serving up some of the finest music you'll find anywhere in the world again this year!Jefferson Center's transformation in the late 80's into the arts center you know today could not have happened without the support and vision of City leaders, as well as the thousands of individual donors who have supported Jefferson Center and our mission as a non-profit focused on world class performances, providing community short term and long term space, and as an education hub for local kids interested in music. Thank you for your kind words and we hope you continue to enjoy your time at Jefferson Center!

Thank you for the review. It has been an honor to bring those names and many more to Southwest Virginia since opening Shaftman Performance Hall. And thank you for acknowledging our incredibly dedicated Volunteers. As a non-profit we rely on those good folks to keep Jefferson Center running smoothly on show nights!

Thank you for the kind words. Thank goodness we had a fantastic original design from the 1920's era Jefferson High School to work from! We are proud to have restored and now maintain this historic facility to further the arts in Southwest Virginia.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed Pirates and have had the opportunity to experience the wonderful music of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra inside historic Shaftman Performance Hall. Hard to believe that hall was once a high school auditorium in the 1920's! Jefferson Center is proud to honor its mission as a non-profit arts venue and serve as this community's hub for world class art!
