Had a fun time bass fishing. It is a slot lake so be familiar with what you can and can't keep. Restrooms at doc were clean, and lake is a good size - not so big that you can't make it across pretty quickly in a small boat, but not so small that it gets over crowded on a normal, non-holiday weekend. I recommend the north shore for a family outing for a day or for a weekend.

We camped at the North Shore park with friends over spring break. We found this park to be great for families. It was small enough that you could see what was going on in most of the park, but large enough for the kids to ride their bikes around to their hearts' content. There was a fishing pier, boat ramp, some playground equipment, lots of picnic tables, and public restrooms. The restrooms were clean, and the camping restrooms were exceptionally clean and well cared for with private showers in each. Trash cans were available right near the campsites, and the park host promptly emptied them each day. Almost all sites get some sort of lake view. There are also nature trails available for hiking. Overall, very nice park.

Was surprised about the other two reviews. This was a perfect stopover driving through Texas. It is probably even better in the summer. There were very few people in the park, ranger at entrance was very friendly. Restrooms very clean. Large lake, trails, and benches, plus a beach volleyball court. Designated swimming area. Camping and cabins available. Yes, will come back here.

We fish quite often, and found this lake to be terribly full of grasses. Didn't seem very clean. Can't imagine why anybody would want to fish this lake.

Park is very pretty. Cabins were new but minimal. Bunk beds only. No running water in cabin. Public restrooms were not clean. Osprey Pavillion is a nice small hall.
