The view at Driftwood is amazing. This would be a great venue for any outdoor celebration. They are definitely set up for it. Their inside tasting area is pretty small though, more of a quaint experience than at Duchman, for example. It isn't meant for spending an hour tasting wine and chatting in. There isn’t much room and it felt a little rushed.

Their wine is good for Texas wine, but their location is what's the real attraction. Enjoy a glass as you sit on the edge of a high bluff (no mountains in this part of Texas!) and enjoy the sunset!

You even get a wine glass to keep. The wine was very tasty so we bought a bottle. For $12 you get 6 tastings and a glass. Afterwards, we went out to look at the beautiful scenery surrounding the building. Lots of seating and even a covered pavilion. The scenery is wonderful looking over fields of wine groves.

First time to visit, not that much of a wine drinker, but got a Starry Nights, sat down and enjoyed the scenery. Will be back!

This was my third trip here and it gets more beautiful every visit! I look forward to many trips back!

Disappointed in limited selections of wine. Very nice facility and staff very nice. Not crowed, however, was late in the afternoon.

The ambiance was perfect. The tasting was good. I ended up buying three of the sweet wines. I am not a sweet wine fan, but they had an excellent selection. Orange muscat, starry night and raspberry rose. They had red wines, but they were not as a distinct taste as the whites. The service was awesome.

My wife and I visited several vineyards in the area this weekend and were overall quite impressed. We pulled up here - were impressed w/ the spectacular view - but were disappointed by the tasting service. We shared a tasting - as we often do to assure we are safe to drive - but this must have frustrated the girl serving, as she served as tasting pours so small neither of us could really taste the product. Seriously - the wine didn't even cover the stem at the base! Consequently, although the wine fragment we got didn't seem bad, we opted not to purchase bottles. This is the only winery of 6 in the area where we had a bad service experience and didn't purchase something. Beautiful setting; contemptuous serving "girl." Since tips are a reflection of service, I actually regret the meager tip I left. In fairness, if you have a different server, your experience may be wholly different in this beautiful setting v

We visited four wineries today. Driftwood had the "chintziest" pours by far. We might well have purchased bottles (as we did at each other winery); however, the tasting was so meager we truly couldn't assess the wine. Gorgeous view; high expectations; service FAIL. The girl serving us needs a customer service primer. Our only regret is that we did not tell the manager and provide him an opportunity to make things right.

What a neat place up that long dirt road. Beautiful grounds and view. There is a need for a larger tasting room!!! (that is because it really has some good wines!!! We will be going back!!!

This winery is tucked away on a long winding road and driving up the dirt road to the winery you wonder, "where the heck am I going?" When you finally arrive at your destination you will be blown away by the beautiful view that is offered. The grounds are perfect to enjoy a glass of wine with a picnic and the view is spectacular. We did the tasting and really enjoyed the wines here. I was a little disappointed in how small the pours were for the tasting. I certainly don't expect a large glass to be poured but the bottles have spouts that monitor how much is poured and it is definitely the smallest pour I have ever had at a wine tasting. The tasting room isn't the prettiest- overcrowded narrow bar area in a space covered in wood paneling. However, it did give it a Texas feel so don't take that as a complaint. I was really impressed with many of their wines, especially their reds. We were told that all of their reds were 100% Texas grapes, but in fact a few contain grapes from California. Not a problem as they were incredible and at a very reasonable price. We joined the club here and immediately had our tasting fee waived and received a discount on the bottles we purchased. With this being such a short, 30 minute drive from Austin it is a must see if you are in the area. Looking forward to returning.

They claim they have numerous TX wines but if you read carefully several have California wine blended in. The server kept saying oh this one is a TX wine while the tasting notes clearly said one of the wines in it was from California. The grounds and view are scenic but the wines do not make it worth a stop.

This was our last stop of the day and ended up being the perfect place to "chillax!" We sat in the shade, had a drank, and enjoyed the beautiful views. The winery sits up on a hill overlooking the vineyards, farm lands, goat herds, etc. There had been a wedding on the property earlier in the day and you could only imagine how beautiful it must have been with the surrounding scenery.
