This is our 2nd trip to Great Wolf in 5 years. Although it was spring break and very busy we had a great time. The kids, 7 and 10 yr. old boys, enjoyed magic quest and all of the slides. Just be prepared to spend some cash, especially during holidays/weekends etc. You can save money on the following if you wish: order cups of ice water instead of bottled water, you can get soda refills outside the pizza place, there is a microwave available for use in the bear paw sweet shop to heat up foods, pre-purchase the packages online for the magic quest etc. Have a lot of patience and know that there will be a crowd of families. Most of all have fun!!

This is certainly a "kid-centered" facility. Lots of stuff for kids from 2 to 20 to do apart from the water park. There's even stuff for us "older" kids to do.Being the first weekend of spring break, check-in was tedious because there were TONS of people waiting in line. The efficiency and friendliness of the staff went a long way toward preventing it from being an absolute nightmare. I am told if you have a reservation, you will be permitted to use the water park even before the 4:00 check-in time. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable with more than adequate supplies (towels, bath supplies, etc.) Staff was efficient and unobtrusive. The restaurants were very nice, but a little pricey like the rest of the hotel. Good selection of great eats at the buffets. There were lots of activities to keep my 8 year old grandson busy and entertained. The outside activiites (ropes courses and outside areas of the water park) were closed due to the weather (cold and wet), there were still more than we could do in two days. Youi are allowed to use the facilities even after you check out. Very nice perk.We have been here before a couple of times, and will probably go back again.

After reading a lot of negative reviews about this place, I was hesitant to go. I am so happy I changed my mind. The room was spotless! I had read the beds were uncomfortable, but I did not find that to be the case. They are not cheap beds. They are medium to firm beds, with a pad to help with comfort. The pillows were great, and the sheets were so soft. I slept all night, both nights we were there. You can tell they cut no corners building this place. Everything was high quality, and built to last. The staff was very friendly and helpful, in every place we went during our stay here. The valet parkers were exceptional! Wow. They went out of their way to help you in any way possible.Be prepared to spend some money. They are not cheap, it was worth every bit I spent. I noticed there are very few exits here and the front doors could not possibly be opened by small children (they are very heavy). They have a lot of staff; mostly young adults who really are terrific with the kids. Everything here is about kids and family. I felt safe staying here and actually had not seen a place that was geared towards "child safety" to this degree since we visited Disney. A lot of people walk around the hotel with PJs on. It always made me smile when I would see that. People feel very comfortable here. I stayed on the 2nd floor, and noise was not an issue. I can't say enough good things about this place. So glad we went, and will go again.

Had an awesome time, it was our 5th time here. Just don't go to bed early due to door slamming. Prices were a little high but its to be expected at a resort like this.

Beds are hard as a rock and the rooms very spartan. The waterpark is showing it's age and unless it is winter and the only game in town there are tons more waterparks in the area that are better.

It was a blast for the kids, but just not enough rides and everything that you want to do outside the water park is just another large expense and over priced at that. The rooms were clean and fun for the kids but the ac wasn't working and had to wait 2 hours for it to be fixed.

The park is loud because of all the mechanics to the rides and there are not that many rides. When we were there, the big ride (the one we wanted to ride the most) was down the whole weekend. Its overpriced. The rooms are really quiet, though. And clean. We do mini-vacays in grapevine every year and decided to stray from our regular place to try great wolf last year. We'll be back at the vineyards this summer. The cabins are terrific and the lake is great.

Waterpark...what's not to like? We visited Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas in the few days before Christmas for a little vacation. The hotel prices were pretty steep so we decided that two nights was enough. You definitely want to arrive at the earliest check-in time and stay in the waterpark on your last day as long as possible to maximum the value and fun. The check-in line was very long and the place was very busy since it was right before the holidays. There were several restaurant choices, an arcade, and souvenir shopping on the property...you really don't need to leave during your stay, but we did just to get a change of scenery and eat less expensive food. The room was nice and clean, but the pillows were uncomfortable...I didn't sleep well either night. The kids (husband and daughter) has a great time in the waterpark. The wristband for your room key and credit card was great...loved not having to take a wallet to the pool. Right near DFW. Well run operation.

The indoor park offers several high thrill slides fun for adults and kids. There is also a bar for the adults inside the park open til 8pm.

We had a great family time! The waterpark was great. the kids ranging from 8-16 had a good time. The ropes course was closed, but they gave us arcade credit. My husband and I were able to spend some Mommy/Daddy time together while the kiddos did the magi quest.

First, the water park: My five year old liked it, but was limited on the slides she could ride because of her height. She did have a fun time though. My 13 year old son enjoyed it, but one day was enough for him. The main issue I had was that it appears they aren't taking care of the water park. There are lots of places where rust is developing. I realize they constantly deal with water, and humidity, but they need to take care of the rust. It just looks like the owners don't care when I see things like this. There is also massive dust building up on the slides, and the tops of the "buildings" in the water park. This place could stand a good cleaning:Second, the rooms: Our bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress needs to be changed because it dipped in the middle. That's a true sign of an old mattress. The rooms were clean, but housekeeping was slow about getting our room cleaned. It was almost 5:00 in the afternoon before housekeeping arrived to clean the room.Third, the restaurants: I wasn't impressed with the buffet, but there is a lot of variety in the buffet. It isn't the worse one I've ever eaten at. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant on the fourth floor. Nothing but high-priced food. Our waitress was friendly, but she was very slow. Save your money, and go somewhere off-site. There are plenty of cheaper restaurants nearby.Fourth, the chaos with kids: The staff needs to do something about the kids running everywhere. Parents shouldn't allow their kids to run wild, but they are everywhere. What amazed me more than anything is that the hotel staff didn't do anything to stop the chaos. I never saw security enforcing the 11:00 curfew.I agree with previous posters, that this is a casino for kids. My kids did enjoy the Magiquest. I have to admit, I really got into it as well, but like I said before, the kids running all over the place is crazy. I give it an average score, because my kids enjoyed it. There was plenty of things for them to do, but the amount of money someone spends, I really expect a higher quality in a resort.

Clean room staff mostly friendly still exploring the place. but I am very disappointed in the in room tv. First it is small. Like 22 inch's small. The remote is generic and none of the external inputs work. Carried my xbox 1000 miles to play at night while kids sleep and not an option here as tv is a joke. It is also in front of the beds and not the couch . go figure. Not off to a good start. The remote doesn't even have an input button. Called the front desk and they had no compassion on the issue. I know it's dorky but if you have a young kid xbox is better than bar time.

If you are wanting to entertain your kids, this is the place. The price of the room gets you in the waterpark but the arcade games and scavenger hunt (Quests) are extra. Our group had grandparents, parents, young teenagers, and kids as young as 6. Everyone had a good time. Since everyone in the Waterpark/hotel is an overnight guest, we felt safe in letting the kids have the run of the place and there were kids everywhere. To me, it had a cruise ship feel only with wide halls and big rooms. The Waterpark is great with a wave pool and 10-12 water slides in doors that varied from Meek and Mild for the youngest kids to Wild and Crazy. This was a winter visit that probably contributed to the shorter lines. No telling what the lines would be like in the summer. But in the summer there are outdoor water slides and a rope course that were closed for the season. This is a very well run place; the staff was helpful and courteous. Our rooms were large and well appointed. You could even bring coolers with drinks and food to your room.

Whether I bring my only child or a group, we always have a great time. Added a ropes course outside from March to october.

We brought our kids and a cousin, they have visited about once a year since ages 5 to 7. We haven't been in two years, and thought they had aged out of Great Wolf. We were wrong. The kids asked about GW a few months ago, so we surprised them with a night (coming to town for family xmas anyway). They are the perfect age now to run around in a group with minimal adult supervision. We do make them stay together, but they enjoy being together anyway. The wrist bracelets all have room-key access, so they can get food and/or rest, watch TV, play video games, nap, bathroom, etc. It's been wonderful and low-stress for the parents :) There are almost literally no lines or very small lines (less than 5 minutes) when the waterpark opens!! Lots of families check out and go home after 11am check-out. But your bracelet is still good until 9pm after check-out! TIPS: Before check-out, pack and load your car, but keep the clothes they'll wear on top. I put each outfit in a plastic grocery bag. When we leave, they'll just go in bathroom and put swimsuit in the bag. Very easy, and the kids get another great day of playing. I'm sitting by the cabanas typing this. The tables outside the cabanas (on left as you enter) are quiet and free. We go to Starbucks as soon as we wake up (6-7am) because the line is out the door by 9am. BRING A LUGGAGE CART BACK UP WITH YOU. We packed and left at 9am so we'd miss the packed elevator crowd. After kids ate and went to waterpark, hubs and I hung out in our room until the maids came at 11am.We always take the kids to Bear Paw for breakfast because they have delicious, fresh 2.99 breakfast burritos (egg cheese and sausage or bacon) and lots of donut choices with milk, juice. Six of us ate breakfast for $30, that's wonderful for a vacation breakfast. There are tables, just walk towards outside and they're directly across from the 3D films. ($6 per child for a 5min 3D film). We always bring a cooler with food. A little bit of work, but we save so much $. And we splurge a bit on upgraded cheese and meats, so the kids love it. No need for towels since they're provided. Another tip...gather everything (such as $2.50 bottled water) that you don't want cluttering your room (sales brochure books)...put it all on top of the closet area. Just put it back after you pack to leave. So much less clutter! And you'll have full use of the tables.
