Visited for maybe the forth time. Nice set up. Cheap night of fun since you can watch two movies for 6 bucks a head. They ask you to not bring in outside food/drink but have no control. Prices inside are not bad, they don't gouge you like a normal movie theater. Need to get a brighter camera for front screen. We did run into some issues with the employees. There was only one line open to enter and a pretty long line of cars. Should have been two open. We noticed two people in the ticket house, the girl was feverishly texting away, maybe she should have been taking money. In front of us were two people on bicycles getting their tickets, which we had not seen before. When we go to the ticket house I tried to make a funny to the guy handling our tickets about "do they get a discount" and the girl that wasn't even serving us (or anyone) decided it was time to say "have you seen our prices" in a snuffy way. Get a life. Ok on to problem # next: We were here on a Groupon...two tickets, tub of popcorn and large drink. Well the popcorn is 5 bucks normally and the drink 3.25. So we didn't want the popcorn and thinking the drink was cheaper I planned to broker a deal at the concessions. Well before I even finished my question I got a curt "no" from the 20 something long haired brunette. After some irritating discussion we gave the popcorn to the folks behind us. I guess the groupon is the groupon but the girls attitude needs improvement. At my business, if anyone talked that way to a customer they would go on corrective action. A simple. We got back to the truck and my wife was thinking the same thing as me: Soup Nazis in training! To be fair, this is the first time we have had employee issues so maybe just a bump in the road. We will be back soon but hopefully things will go smoother.

Had a wonderful time!. The price for a double feature was great and we were lucky enough to get a 70 degree day in February. The staff was very helpful and the concession stand had a great selection! Area was clean

My husband and I surprised our sons (9&5) to a drive in movie for valentine's day. We saw Spongebob and Paddington. I really enjoyed Paddington and suffered through Spongebob. When you drive up to ticket booth, if it is already dark, dim your lights. We only paid $20 total for 2 adults and 2 children. So I love the prices.Btw the other screen was playing Jupiter Uprising and American Sniper. It was not too crowded but we got there pre-views and there were a row of cars that came in after we were settled. It was really quiet and dark. But it seems people are ok with your interior light being on while you are getting settled. Next time I will be sure to bring a flashlight. My boys dropped a few items and I could not find them to pick them up. I don't like to liter. We brought lawn chairs and the boys sat outside next to the car. The car next to us preferred not to leave their car running so asked if ok if they listened to our radio. I was glad because I was afraid it would be too loud. But then a truck pulled up behind us and there sound was even louder. This was nice because our unit did not have to be up as loud as my husband and I remained in the car.By intermission, both my boys and the neighbors moved inside as it was getting a little nippy. But we brought along blankets and jackets and were prepared for the drop in temp. The intermission was a nicely timed. It was not too long or too short.I loved the fact that we were able to bring in our own food and drinks. We did not purchase any food this time around but will next time because I like supporting locally owned businesses.I wish the venue was a little closer to Houston. Our drive was a bit over an hour but it was well worth it. I look forward to returning for a trip with just my husband and I and when it is a bit warmer so the boys can enjoy the play area.I picked up one of those neon light glow in the dark necklaces and swords and they really had fun wearing and playing with those. The sword actually was bright enough that they used them as lights when trying to get situated with their food. Thanks to previous reviews, I was quite prepared.Tips* check the weather and prepare for comfort...blankets, jacket, lawn chairs, and next time I will bring a pillow because the neck rest in my car was not that comfortable.I also recommend bringing a small flashlight so car interior light or worse headlights will not need to be turned on while movie is playing unless absolutely necessary. If staying for both movies, pack snacks and drinks accordingly or bring enough CASH for concessions.Be considerate. Don't talk or laugh too loud during movies. It is still a theatre experience.(If anything, I wish they had a few lot waitress that come to the car and take and deliver your order. Or a number where you can order food from the car and an attendant brings the food out to you or even calls you when your order is ready. I think I would have been more apt to order popcorn if it was more easily accessible.)Finally, Have Fun cuz we sure did and we will be back soon!!

Been there on sat night with kids and friends, this place is nice, good old outdoor movie, under the stars. It was my kids first time and we all enjoyed. The place could do better with few improvements, such as better/faster food serving, could rent radios/ speakers. Anyway it was great fun, definitely we'll go back better equipped with blankets and radios, since the new car shut the radio after 10 minutes.....

Good prices for two movies, first run movies! Have concession stand with goodies. Bring your lawn chairs and sit outside and enjoy a good old fashion drive in movie.

You can not beat the experience. Two movies for six bucks a person!! The concessions are reasonable and helps support the business so please do not sneak in your own food. There are bathrooms outside that are nice. The gates open at 6:30, we got there at 6:25 and the line was already out on the road in the grass on both sides. There is a two lane entrance, and three booths to pay, it moves quickly once they open. We brought our little doggie and she had fun too. People bring chairs and sit out in front of their car, play football, play guitar, let kids run around until the movie starts. Everyone is pretty well behaved and courteous.

We do not have any drive-in movie theaters in the state where we live, so on a recent trip to Austin, we went a little out of the way to visit the Showboat Drive-In. It was certainly worth the trip. First of all, we were pleasantly surprised by the cost of the movie. We were able to see two movies for less than it would cost to see one movie at a regular movie theater. Also, the atmosphere at the drive-in was very friendly and family oriented. They have an area in front of the screen where children can play. Most families brought chairs, tables, blankets, and food. They were basically having family picnics while they watched the show. We were not as prepared as the "regulars", so we purchased food at the show. I would recommend getting in the food lines early because they did get quite long. The food was good though, and the employees were very friendly.I highly recommend the Showboat Drive-In. Even if you do not live in the area, it is worth the trip!

Took he kids out to see TMNT at the Showboat. Brought back old times. Price is unbeatable, and the kids really loved it. We will return

Overall a great drive-in theater. But the concession stand food orders take too long to be filled, 25 minutes for a cheeseburger and fries? Crowd of people waiting for orders. Food was cold by the time it was served. Use real butter on your popcorn. The majority of your profit is from concessions, get an experienced food service manager in there to streamline operations. Also, digital projection is dim. Dark scenes lose definition. Get the white paint out and repaint the stained screens.

Great entrance price for a double feature. Food is good and priced very well. Love the family atmosphere. Make sure to bring mosquito spray for those hot sticky nights!

Miss going to the drive-in theater? Not anymore! All I hoped for and better than I expected. Make sure you arrive well ahead of show times though as there can be a long wait to get in.

I haven't been in a drive in movie theater in ages and my teenage son has never been to one, we had to trick him in the car to get him there but we loved the experience, the staff is friendly, the snacks are good and you have control of the sound quality...overall a great experience for $6 a person.

Love this place. My favorite date night spot in Houston. Great to see people of all ages! We take our puppy with us too. Staff is great and smiley. I hope this place stays for a long time.

A whole new twist on going to the movies. Each ticket gets you into two movies, usually a kids movie first and then a more adult type movie second. You don't have to attend both. Come for one or the other or watch both. You can't keep your car running, so make sure you have a good battery on your cat and not one that dies if the battery is run for sorry periods of time. Temperature is also something you can't control. It's not super close, but still, you can make an event out of it. All screen times, movies, and rules are available on the website. Great fun for all ages!

This was a great experience. There are two screens with 2 movies offered on each screen. The cost for entrance is per person and very reasonable. Our boys played Frisbee and tossed a football before the movie started while we went inside to order our food. There are many options at the snack bar, which include the regular popcorn, candy and sodas, but you can also order hamburgers and fries and hot dogs. We brought our lawn chairs and sat outside, but when it got cold, we got inside our vehicle. The lines to enter can get very long, so arrive early to have a better choice in parking your car in the best spot.
