Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas is a very nice facility with many amenities - from golf on the pristine Slick Rock (signature golf course), to tennis and swimming pool. They hold some fun events throughout the year.

Just a great course. The view on all the courses are beautiful.I was not so happy with my score though.

Living on the 7th fairway of Slick Rock, I guess I know the course pretty well. If you want the course at it's best, show up October 15th thru The 2nd week of December. Like all Texas courses, summer heat can take it's toll on both the course and the golfers. Everyone wants to come to "The Bay" in the summertime. Do yourself a favor and come in the late Fall. It's by far the best season in the Texas Hill Country. Can't make the Fall? The Winter months come in a close second. Those that live here will tell you, except for boating, Summer is our least desirable season.

One of the most beautiful courses in Texas. The views are magnificent for being in Texas. Of course you are in the hill country and that place is know for beautiful views. The greens had just been air-rated and a little rough but I could see the potential. We were not playing in a tournament it did not matter.

This is a relatively easy course to play. It has interesting holes front and back. Driving through the waterfall is a fun and rare event in golf for both young and old. Enjoyable !

Beautiful and very playable golf course for any handicap. Waterfall hole is really spectacular. But, the traps were even worse than you would expect on a public course. They are full of small to medium stones and the sand is not evenly distributed resulting in erratic outcomes. Very disappointing. The clubhouse makes maybe the best burger I've ever had. The bar is well done and the bartender very attentive.

This is truly one of Texas's hidden gems. This place has become a second home for me, and the staff truly will treat you like a VIP guest.

We had played this course back in the early 1970s when it was new. It didn't seem very difficult back then. Now we are talking about a different layout. This course is in amazing condition considering that the hill country just had one of the harshest winters inmany years. The greens on the back nine have recovered nicely from a fungus. They are impressive. When you arrive at the course you are greeted by friendly and helpful cart attendants. The pro shop guy was a bit confused because I had already checked out.It took him awhile to figure it out. The starter here is a very brusk individual, more suited for non-public contact work. Slick Rock follows the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. concept of “hard par, easy bogey.” The front nine is strategically routed through colorful outcroppings of Texas granite and a magnificent mixture of trees: native oak, persimmon, willow, Chinese tallow and eldarica pine. The back nine is open and rolling with Crenshaw Bentgrass greens and 419 Bermuda tee boxes. All in great shape. Slick Rock is home to Horseshoe Bay Resort's awe-inspiring "Million Dollar Hole"* (No. 14) featuring a winding cart path that takes golfers on a ride through a waterfall that spans more than 35 yards. There is more brick and tile work on the cart paths and surrounding walls here than any other course. The original owner Norman Hurd created this magnificentcourse as a part of three great golf courses in what was once a barren, undeveloped area south of lake LBJ. Slick Rock Golf isn't just a walk in the park, it'san adventure in first class golf.* based on 1970s costs.

Excellent service at the clubhoude and course management. The course is typical of a resort, but the play was excellent. The price was around $160/round. Finished both rounds in 4 hours.

Had a great 3 1/2 hour round. Very little waiting. Course was in great shape.

For an average golfer looking to play a course in good condition, at a great value, try this one after 2 pm. Prices drop by 50%, and include cart, driving range and water bottles. The course has a nice layout and is forgiving for a relatively high handicapper. The greens are in above average condition. Service is outstanding and personable.
