Texan Scuba is just amazing! My wife and I finished our OW here. Really well kept and fun. Phil and his staff are the best. They really go out of their to make sure you don't have a want, and help you any way they possibly can...thank you Phil for the dive housing for my GoPro!!! The customer service is out of this world. We are from Dallas, and can't wait to go back to Texan Scuba! The trips they plan are a blast! Very affordable and great company. Phil even makes sure you have everything you need and are taken care throughout the vacation. it really feels like you are there with family. Their dive operation in Cozumel is top notch. Very professional, entertaining, and experienced. We are currently in the process of planning our next trip with them and it can't come soon enough. Thank you Texan Scuba for everything you do, and we can't wait to see you guys again.

After contacting multiple other dive facilities within the greater Houston metro, I contacted Phil at Texan Scuba and was immediately impressed with his knowledge, pricing (which is less than 1/2 of the cost of all others I contacted), and sincere interest in my knowledge of becoming a certified open water diver. Texan Scuba is all inclusive...they feed you, they will educate and train you by the PADI guidelines, and also furnish you an air conditioned cabin to sleep in while your elearning course and instructor led course are also included. Basically all you do is show up !Upon arriving for the three day class, everything was prepared without delay and can honestly say that Texan Scuba is owned and operated within a family environment while treating and engaging with their students in the same manner. You will not find another facility that treats you like family and who genuinally cares about you before, during and even after you have completed the course. If you want an excellent high quality experience at a fraction of the big city costs, you have found the right place!

I have actively taught scuba diving for 40 years and I have dived around the world, thanks in part to my USAF military career. In July 2014, I took my entire family (10 people in all) to Cozumel and we dove five times with Texan Scuba and Island Divers Cozumel (Memo and Adrian were our divemasters), including a night dive. I have known Phil Riggs, the owner of Texan Scuba, for 15 years and so I knew that he would set up a great trip for us Let me put it this way. I was a very good divemaster before I became an instructor, but Memo is much better than I ever was. Both Memo and Adrian, as well as our two boat captains, took great care of us. They were friendly, professional, courteous, and thoughtful. They showed up when they said they would; they accurately assessed the diving abilities of my children; they carefully evaluated the water conditions; and they picked dive sites that they knew my children could handle and would have a blast diving. I literally cannot say enough good things about these guys. I trusted them with my family and they took great care of them. Don't hesitate using IDC for your scuba trip - you won't be disappointed.

My daughter just got certified for open water diving today. At Texan Scuba they are a great bunch of people. The instructors treat everyone uniquely. My daughter had problems understanding the breathing technique under the water (the classes start in a heated pool and end up with lessons in the Blue Lagoon) so she was given individual special attention to help her not only understand the process but to also be confident with it. I can't say enough about all of them. Our group had 6 people with a master diver and instructor. During the 2 1/2 days of instruction, there were also 3 to 4 more instructors/master divers that would come and see how everyone was doing on a regular basis. I had a whole different perspective of scuba diving and felt that it would not fit my interest but I knew my daughter would love it. After being able to sit through all of the instruction and watch them, I have changed my mind so I too will be certified as time allows. Phil and his wife (the owners) are incredible--not to mention our great dinner and breakfast that they served. The Blue Lagoon is a very clean area. The water is incredibly clear and beautiful. The area is catered to divers so there is not a whole lot of public that is allowed in during the diving lesson times. I am very pleased with everything my daughter has learned and accomplished today. Safety is their priority and Texan Scuba is the leader in this!--L. Saleme

My first exposure to Texan Scuba was as a parent chaperone for a group of teens taking the Open Water course. Their instructors were so patient and skillful working with a wide variety of teen personalities and skill levels. I became interested in scuba diving as a result of this experience, and have now completed several certifications and taken several trips with them. The crew at Texan Scuba quickly become more than shop owners, instructors or trip leaders......if you stick around, they become friends! They've expertly guided me through my training, equipment purchases and everything else scuba related. Not to mention they have the best place to do your training at The Blue Lagoon! Check them out....you won't be disappointed!

Texan Scuba's instructors gave us the smoothest learning experience ever, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the certification process and we are looking forward to get our faces underwater ASAP.And the hospitality of the people at the Blue Lagoon made the whole experience an outstanding weekend, long time since we had one like this one.

I've traveled with Texan Scuba several times and they have come through every time. Can't wait to go back to Cozumel or the Bahamas.

Coming from someone who was in a time crunch to get my open water certification and did a fair amount of "shopping around" trying to find the right class for us, I can say with full confidence that Phil's setup and instructors at Texan Scuba are the total package. For a rate that's competitive (usually even lower) to the other facilities around town, you get quality training with everything you need included- tuition, gear rental, even a cabin to stay in for the weekend and BBQ dinner after class on Saturday night! My dad and I did the open water diver course through Texan Scuba this past weekend. The first half of the class is done entirely online through the PADI online training site. There are 6 sections and you should plan to spend 1.5 to 2 hours on each section. It's best to just sit down on an evening after work and get one section done each day. After a week you're through. After the online portion, you go to Texan Scuba in Huntsville for a weekend of dive training. Friday night and Saturday morning are in their heated swimming pool, then Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning are in the blue lagoon. Although the water was pretty low visibility from all the rain over the weekend, the blue lagoon was still very interesting with sunken boats and other underwater structures to explore! Folks there said the visibility is usually 15-20 feet, but for us is was 5-10 feet. This just added some advanced navigation training to our course!I have no complaints about the class, the instructors were passionate and experienced, the gear rental equipment is of good quality, and the facility exceeded our expectations. If we decide to advance our certifications we will certainly be going back to Texan Scuba!
