We took our bikes via boat to Pace Bend Park. Road the surface roads around the park. Pretty ride and fairly easy. Never found the trials for mountain bikes that supposedly are there. Beautiful views of Lake Travis from some of the stopping areas along the ride.

I don't know why they have listed Pace Bend Park as being in Lago Vista TX -- LV is across Lake Travis (aka Colorado River) and there is no bridge -- that makes the Park about a 90 minute drive to Lago Vista! The Park is in Spicewood / Briarcliff (both in zip 78669.) The Park is closer to the Briarcliff subdivision on Pace Bend Road (aka Rt 2322) than it is to the community of Spicewood. Nice quiet place, swimming area, bike paths (interior plus on road which is a 6+ mile circle), hiking trails.

Camping park needs more water and electricity hook ups, couldn't make a reservation by phone or internet only at park by person or through snail mail, I thought that was a Crock of Crap! Cmon Park get with the Times! They don't accept any plastic credit or debit cards, so this is probably their dilemma.The primitive camping and bathrooms was good though and clean. It would've been nicer to stay in water and electricity area. I like to brush my teeth and shave. We only stayed one night, so I was able to rough it one day and brush teeth later in evening. They have plenty primitive camping and you don't need a reservation. They do have a free drinking well, but I learned this later. This was a plus.This was a lot of fun for one night, and we attended the Austin Extravaganza event with other Jet Skiers and boaters, so this was a blast by Mudd Cove. We will try to come back next year and make this an annual event.

If you're looking for a place to get away from it all and just sit back and relax at your campsite, Pace Bend is a great spot. The campsites are really nice, spaced out pretty well, and a bunch of them come with a great view along the cliffs. The only thing this park is lacking is good hiking trails/activities. If you're going with a family or a large group and plan to spend most of your time around the fire or at your campsite, well worth it. And the sunset views from the cliffs are pretty epic!

This is a beautiful course. There are deer all over the course, which makes it interesting! The little grill there American Girl Cafe is FANTASTIC! We go there frequently.

My family and I just returned from a day trip to Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis. We wanted to have a picnic near the water, but could not find any shady spots. Good thing we carried our own tent! If you do go to the park for a day trip, it is a must to carry your own covering. It was very hot, but taking a few dips in the lake was refreshing and cooled us off. The beach is a little bit rocky, but there are very few rocks once you are in the water. Another thing to note is that if anyone in your car is over 63, then the entrance fee is waived. The regular entrance fee is only $10 (for day use). Also, there are plenty of restroom facilities, dumpsters and prepared picnic and day use sites. Some of the picnic and day use sites do have covering, but they are not right on the shore. So, if you are in the area, Pace Bend Park is a great place to explore.

We visit pace bend every year as we own property not far from here lake Travis is a beautiful lake however with the lake being half empty the past few years finding a good spot with sand can be difficult on the weekends I recommend if you are visiting the hill country visit this park on a weekday for a better experience Travis county manages this park and they keep it nice there is cliffs you can dive off (not recommended when lake is low) there is abundant wildlife primitive camping and powered camping as well they have boat ramps but they are closed while lake is low beautiful scenery we make this a must for our family each year never gets old

It's a really nice place to go to see Lake Travis. You can also camp. It's also near the Girl Scout Camp-Camp TexLake. It's best when the lake levels are higher, but still worth a visit for a picnic or camping.

Pace Bend is a great location just outside of Austin, Texas. Unfortunately too many people decide to jump off the cliffs into Lake Travis. We have seen so many search and rescue crews looking for people who have injured or killed themselves by seeking this thrill. We love Pace Bend, but hate to see people being stupid.

My husband and I go here often and always have a good time. Although the water is very low at the moment and I would not recommend any cliff diving, there are still plenty of spots to go swimming. There is a gradual shallow entry into the water, great for my puppies or kids if you have em'. The bathrooms are not the best though. No doors! and no place to wash hands, but we are used to roughing it and always come prepared.

There's so much to do at Pace Bend. The camping is great. There are a ton of trails to walk or mountain bike along with swimming areas and fishing areas.

This is a lovely area of the lake. Has many nice places to reach the waters edge with little to no trouble. Lovely trees, and coves. Good family location.

I'm not a huge camping fan, but this county park has some awesome, relaxed rangers working there and makes it easy to camp near the water.

Went out for a nice weekend, arrived past sundown, still found a camp spot easily, some camp spots are nice and secluded and others are close to trails and bathrooms. Tons of bugs (duh). Water has been low, hard to fully utilize some park features but the beach area is nice.

We had a good time even though it was very trashy.If you decide to go make sure everyone wears shoes in and out of water!Broken beer bottles especially in the water!Our kids cut there feet very badly.If we go back it will be to slum n will not take our kids!Trashy fun!I was there on memorial day 2012
