This museum does an excellent job of explaining how an oil boom affected early Luling, Texas. It's got a great combination of artifacts and photos with good captions. It's a good stop if you're visiting during the annual Watermelon Thump or have stopped for lunch at what one of the great bbq joints located just a couple of blocks down. The Luling Chamber is located here, too.

We stopped here on our way back to Houston from San Antonio. We didn't expect much, but enjoyed reading about the history of this small town. The museum is free and is located in an old store. Loved all of the old pictures!

You'll see pictures of famous people who brought about the early oil boom in Texas and see replicas and even some used oilfield equipment. The displays are nicely presented and each artifact adds a little bit more to the richness of this little place. Luling is still a small town and has preserved a significant history. I am glad to be from the area and glad the museum owners have put so much time, effort and of course money into this.

There isn't much to this little museum but what it has is interesting and certainly worth the stop...especially compared to what else this town has to offer...

This museum was a great way to find out about the history of the oil industry in central Texas. Has a short film to view that was very informative. Highly recommended.

So much learned in a small amount of time. Great way to learn a little history. We enjoyed the visit. A donation is suggested but not expected.

We looked inside the entrance to find a very imaginative, visual display of the local oil history. A great movie could be watched which really told the story. Nice, nice place.
