Had an amazing time! David was our guide and he kept everyone entertained. The horses were well cared for and looked happy. Would definitely recommend this for beginners and experienced riders.

Dave and Jeff like to keep the rides small,so we had 3 people on my ride: a couple from Australia and myself. Dave was great to ride with because he accommedated the ride to fit the comfort level of the least experienced rider in the group. The beginner rider in our group was comfortable learning to trot so Dave gave him some instructions and off we trotted :) The thing to remember is that your safety and the safety of the group are what make the ride enjoyable and fun.The area around the lake is nicely wooded and I love the rustling of the leaves as the horses walk through the woods. December is a great time to take this ride.Dave is a knowledgable horseman that is willing to share his knowledge to make your ride enjoyable. He also has a wealth of information about the area that he shares with you.

Awesome experience - Sugarman was a great horse. Horses in excellent condition and David was an extremely competent trail guide and horseman. Loved the trail - would love to do another ride when I go back.

Weather was fab, company great, horses sweet. Trek was a bit boring but that wasn't anything other than the surroundings, nothing to do with David. Stopped too long at the lake (killing time) would rather spend the time riding. I would recommend this especially if a beginner or nervous. The horses are well behaved. No complaints. David was a great host ans is lucky to have so much hacking available. I would love to have so much hacking available where I live.

Don't let the name scare you. The healthy, happy horses don't seem to have a vendetta against the riders. This is a hidden gem here in the Metroplex and it's just down the road from DFW Airport and Grapevine. The guide is attentive (thank you Dave) and the guide takes into consideration the experience level of the riders. As it turned out, the day my 20 year old cousin from Switzerland rode she was the only rider (another rider had canceled earlier in the day due to illness) so she rode alone with the trail guide through a nature preserve and then down to the lake and back. A choice of helmets (recommended but optional) was available for no charge. Boots are not mandatory. The trail is both through shady woods and in full sun, so dress accordingly. Sunblock and bug repellant recommended. The cost is reasonable ($80 for a two-hour ride and I gave a $20 tip). This place doesn't have that touristy "in it for the money" vibe you can get at many more visible locations in Fort Worth. The people running seem to like what they do and they want the riders to have a pleasant time.

I recently went to Dallas with work and had a day to spare so went trail riding. The area is lovely and the horses were well cared for, catered for all types of riding ability and were about 15-16 hands in size so manageable. David was friendly and supportive, I had never ridden western style riding so he was clear on instructions. I rode Shilabock and it was a really pleasant experience as he was totally responsive but had some energy and was keen to follow. The ride was really beautfiul and I especially enjoyed going down to the lake and letting the horses cool down a little.I would definitely recommend this as it is only 2 hours and great fun with decent horses and a fun guide.

Myself and my 21 year old daughter went on the Grapevine trail ride with Dave back in June 2013. We are riders and were very impressed with the whole experience. Dave was a great guy and told us many interesting stories. The horses were really well behaved. He was so informative and made the ride what it was. The trail was varied through wood and open brush and to the lake and back through the nature reserve. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definately go back. Dave made our experience by his welcoming attitude and hospitality. Thanks Dave!

I decided to do a trail ride and found Widowmaker Trail Rides online. I called Jeff up to set up a date and he was very kind and made it very easy to get the processgoing. We started on time. Jeff is very good at instructing for all experience levels so dont be afraid if you arent that experienced. It was very relaxing and beautiful. 2 hours was the length and thats about right with horse riding. Its an awesome experience and would recommend Jeff to anyone who wants an enjoyable horse ride. A++++++

Dave was a generous host and an entertaining guide. My horse, Chip, was safe and steady, yet responsive to a light touch. The countryside was lovely and there were a few opportunities to trot or go slightly faster if you wanted. All round a good introduction to Texas and Western riding, especially for novice riders. Good value at USD 80 for two hours, especially when compared to what you can pay in the UK for ridingJ Letang (UK)

This was such an enjoyable ride for some novice horse back riders. Dave took his time training us on everything we needed to know. He fit us each with a beautiful horse. We forgot our water and Dave was quick to point us to his fridge to each grab one. He knows the trails very well (as do the horses), was very sociable and knowledgeable about the area. He was even our photographer for part of the ride! Highly recommended.
