We took a tour of Caddo Lake and our guide, Angie rocked! She was easygoing, laid back and very knowledgeable about the lake. You can see that being a guide is her passion. Love her!

Billy gave us the 'low-down' on local lore, lake politics and wildlife. Really enjoyed this excursion of our trip.

stopped in to rent boat was ok with price but then wanted to buy some sodas they wouldn't sell as a 12 pack they wanted 1.50 pls tax per can came up to $20 for a 12 pack. They wouldn't work with price at all. Left soon after that without soda. I have been down here before and never had a problem with Johnson's but this time for some reason was very different.

We had a group of friends come to the lake for the weekend. One of our highlights is to take the boat out for a leisurely ride. We make it a point to stop at Johnson's to get gas, a postcard, and a snack. Fun fact, right across the water is the house that was filmed in the opening credits of True Blood. The store is a unique little stop and people are super friendly.

We went for a 2 hour tour on a Devil Boat with our two dogs. The pups loved the boat ride and so did we. Caddo Lake is beautiful, too bad about all the duck blinds set up in it. The cypress trees were a very pretty red and looked fantastic against a setting sun. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area. I would highly recommend getting out on the lake with Johnson's Ranch Marina

Chaz was our tour guide and he was great. He has a great deal of knowledge which he shares in a very unassuming and interesting way. He's also quite the story teller with a bit of a flair for the dramatic. I can't say just how informative and relaxing taking a tour with him was. If you get a chance, I recommend you ask for him by name. I understand their fishing tours are quite successful and popular too (we'll be back for that next time!). The lady (sorry I didn't get her name) in the office was super nice and was even cooking up breakfast and had fresh coffee ready to go at 7am. They made us out-of-towers feel very welcome and at ease. I felt their prices were reasonable too. If you go to Caddo- get out on the water with these nice folks!

My boyfriend and a few friends stopped here to get gas in our boat, the young girl that was in there was kinda snotty. Its a good little place to get a snack and a drink tho. Gas is terribly high!

Go devil tours...we took a daytime tour with Angie. She was very interesting with plenty of info about the history and ecology of the lake. The night tour with Chaz was great with his ghost stories, legends and alligator spotting. Fun time, as well as learned alot!

Our evening tour of lake was the highlight of our trip. Good job, Chaz -- our guide was knowledgeable and his love for the lake really shone through.

We live on Caddo Lake and always stop by Johnsons when we are on the Texas side of the lake.It is relaxing to sit on the deck and admire the beauty of the area. Karen and her crew always make you feel welcome. Also they have gas pumps on the water ... the only ones I am aware of on Caddo.

Apparently Billy usually catches a lot of fish when he goes out. But when he doesn't, he gets frustrated. We always felt safe, WE were thrilled with the number of fish we caught, and the lake is beautiful, but for the money we spent, it would have been nice for Billy to treat our kids, novice fisherman, more kindly, and not chastise and berate them and the adults as well, while we were learning to cast and fish on Caddo Lake.

We love to stop by after riding motorcycles to sit and eat on the porch watching all the boats and folks! Such a relaxing place!

We did not camp here however we took the GoDevil tour with Billy. It was the last day of duck season. The weather and the waters were calm. A perfect day for a tour. Billy is very knowledgeable and he knows what he is doing. Felt safe and secure the whole way through. Now since nobody is around except the hunters our tour lasted way more than an hour. A lot of that was due to the fact that Billy owned about 20 duck blinds and he checked on them all. We didn't care ,we had a blast and we learned soooo much. I totally got turned around in the swamp. Easy to do cause everything looks the same. I wouldn't recommend doing this without a guide. Billy is a real treasure. I will recommend this tour to many coming your way. However.....be sure to bring plenty of cash. I wish I had it for a generous tip that he so deserved!!!! Looking forward to my next visit:-) :-)

We took a Go Devil tour with Billy and my oh my, don't miss this. It's the way to go if you want a first-hand tour of Caddo Lake! Billy grew up on the lake and he knows everything there is to know about Caddo Lake and the Go Devil boat just zips around this lake without getting bogged down in the vegetation. We saw lots of great birds, blooming water lilies and toured the wonderful bayous with ease. It was so much more fun than a canoe or a pontoon boat or anything else for that matter. I would highly recommend this tour and it was a bargain since you've got Billy all to yourself to answer questions. It was great fun. Thanks Billy, we loved every minute!
