In town from NC apt hunting. Though on a cloudy day this park was full of walkers, joggers, dogs, and whatever else. Great time relaxing with a stroll along the River.

We walked the circle around the "lake" and were delighted to see so many people enjoying walking, jogging and biking. This is one of America's best downtown parks, and to come to Austin and not enjoy a stroll along the river in this park would not be advised. Enjoy!

Parked in our RV, unloaded bikes and did 12km in the sunshine along Lady Bird Johnson lake through town - have never seen so many joggers & walkers enjoying a path before (perhaps Stanley Park Vancouver) so really great to see - scouted for places to launch kayak on a different day (again no problem). Great for this city to have such facility easily accessible.

Went for a very long walk. Totally worth it, even during the winter. Easy access for parking. Great place for everyone and families with kids.

We had a great time visiting this park along the river (so close to downtown) several times to walk and run. Lots of people enjoying the outdoors but the park is big enough (over 300 acres) to feel uncrowded. The paths are wide and meander through a variety of setting to keep it interesting. You can rent a canoe or watch the crewing teams stroke on by. Nice way to get away from the traffic and noise of downtown.

Whether it's a spring art fair, a summer picnic, or Pagan Pride in the fall, Zilker Park really does have it all! Nestled in the heart of Austin, this family and pet-friendly park offers everyone a day of fun and relaxation. Zilker Park beckons Austinites to play and congregate among the signature floral and fauna that is Texas. It's easy to get to and hard to tear yourself away from, but the best thing about Zilker is that you can always return!

This park is beautiful. You can park easily and easily access Barton Springs pool, sculpture garden, and botanical garden. If you are a dog lover this park is an absolute must!

This park, and the attached greenbelt, was one of the main reasons I wanted to move to Austin in the 1990's. It has changed since then, as everything in Austin has, and now is off limits for a lot of festivals, but it is still a nice place to relax in the middle of a growing city.

The park gets extremely crowded on the weekends (especially when the weather is unseasonably warm), so be prepared to wait for parking. Otherwise, once your there, there is a great energy in the park. It's great for running, walking, playing games and people watching.

I like the park it's good to spent a sunny day there, and also meet alot of people. Actually there is a nice running track you can take your dog and go and run around the lake there

I wouldn't have normally gone to a park on a weekend trip, but I'm glad I did. I dipped my feet in the water, walked around, hung out on the grass. It was a good way to enjoy the warm afternoon sunshine.

Loved the train ride and dog park. Great walking biking trail.Good parking and free, not a lot of that in Austin.

This is just like other typical park. A nice park.Nothing against this place but for visitors with not much time at hand. You can give this place a pass. Barton springs which is located within this park is a place you can dip and cool off.

There's grass... There are people sunbathing and walking their dogs. It's a nice place to real if you live in the city, but it's not a "destination" worth going to see. Head there if it's a sunny day and want to relax. Otherwise it's not a must-see.

Reminded me of my alma mater - Madison WI - a spacious green space with walking paths and bridges along the rivers, a small train, and lots of people out enjoying the 70-degree sunny day in late January. Armed with sporting equipment, friends and family, and their dogs, a large population settled into this great park for a Sunday afternoon to play and relax. We greatly enjoyed the energetic ambience of the area and everyone looked like they were having a fun time.
