The shopping was fun with so many interesting stores. Unfortunately the Opera House had finished one production and was not starting another till the following weekend.

Lots of shopping and nick-knacks, and many old pretty buildings to admire while walking around. My husband was a little board.

...and over half of the stores were closed!! You kidding me? Not very user friendly!! The ones that were open were fun to go through!

Great place to visit. Lots of unique shops and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Downtown is within walking distance from the Granbury Conference Center.

The Granbury Town Square is like a step back in time! It is lovely and a wonderful place to shop. The shop owners are all very friendly and have a smile on their face. This area is also very family friendly and there is also a nearby park within walking distance for the kids. I was told they have a horse and carriage on the town square, however I never saw it on Sunday. There are also many restaurants around the square, as well as a opera house.

First let me say, this was our first trip to Granbury. We wanted a quick little get away place to go as a couple and felt this was perfect. It rained the entire weekend, but that didn't stop us. We had reservations at the Eighteen Ninety Grille and Lounge at 7pm. That part was great!! Highly recommend it! We wanted to walk around the "historic" square that everyone raved about. So we got there around 5 to shop, knowing we would head to the lounge around 6pm for drinks. There were about 4..FOUR stores opened in the entire square, when most of the signs read they would be opened till 7 or 8pm. Huge disappointment! It was raining, yes..but not enough to close stores. One of the first stores we came to thst was open was a place called St. Helens. The lady was so rude and unwelcoming. She was put out that we were there because that meant she had to stop stocking, cleaning or re arranging or what ever it was she was doing. I complemented her store even though she was rude, didn't get a thank you what so ever! It's a shame too because there was a candle and a pillow I really wanted but my husband refused to give them our money or business. On to store #2 that was opened, Market Square. It was nice and cozy. Smelled good and the lady behind the counter was really nice. Store #3 was Spellbound. That was a great little store. Super friendly and she offered local white wine for tasting. I would definitely go there again. Store #4 was an artsy type store, Artefacts. Cute stuff. Very artsy. Friendly people. For the most part, it was just ok. The average age of the crowd was probably 60. We might go back when it's warmer and the lake rises a bit. I've been to better squares. Denton, McKinney, etc.

Just 1 1/2 blocks off the square, the Friends of the Library for Hood County offer a terrific used book store. Well organized. Lots of recent bestsellers. Amazing prices. Helpful volunteers. Even cute sacks donated by local merchants. Readers will love it (park close by or bring a wagon). Plan ahead & donate your books in support of one of the best library-sponsored book stores around.

Lots of great, little shops. The Filling Station and Linda's kitchen were closed so we ate at Nutshell Eatery and Bakery. It was awesome!!!!

The entire ambience of the square is wonderful. You have everything you need: shopping at great little shops with a variety of products to offer, great food choices from country cooking to fine Italian, and also enjoy concerts and/or stage plays. There is always something going on in the Square.
