This is a good walking trail, but it is a poor choice for biking. It is too narrow to be shared by both pedestrians and bicycles.

Just beautiful nature and parks. Excellent places to picnic as well. It can be busy at times so it is not a secret. It is secluded in a lot of areas so alone and especially after dark might not be the safest choice.

The Rose Rudman trail is a pretty nifty place to get in a bit of exercise. It is a pleasant walk or jog, or run, through a nice forested area that empties into a good little park. I have seen many events happen in and around the trail including medieval recreational activities, marathons, Easter egg hunts, soccer practice, etc etc. It's a nice stretch of land with nice scenery and the under bridge trails keep you out of harms way with traffic when you need to cross.

Nice 4+ mile loop from South Tyler trails through Rose Rudman, all of which is placed beside a slow moving creek. Take care if you are on foot because the bicyclists sometimes fly through the trail with reckless abandon. Nice picniccing areas, older playground equipment, and a cancer bell, where one can pay tribute or homage to a loved one braving the fight.

Rose Rudman is a trail that winds for many blocks, through woods and over creeks, & under roads. It is the perfect place to jog, stroll a baby, or let kids ride their bikes as you walk or run beside them. It is a very dog friendly park with winding sidewalks and huge fields of grass to toss a frisbee, or have a picnic. In the spring or fall, it is the perfect setting for great photography.

The trail is a couple of miles through the middle of town but with the trees, you feel like you are much more remote. All surfaces are paved so it is great for strollers, bikes, skateboards, etc. There is a park area where children can play and parents can take a restroom break. Lots of young families, pet lovers, walkers, joggers, bike riders take to the trails each day.

This scenic trail is very nice and one of Tyler's best places to walk. Nice concrete sidewalk and lots to look at while you stroll or power-walk. Safe and beautiful. Take your time and enjoy the moment!

This is very wonderful trail that has benches every so feet for those who need to take a break or just want to sit and listen to all the birds chirping around them and wind blowing through the wooded area. They have a water fountain that even had a dish for the dog to get a little sip and our little four legger was very happy for that! Other walkers were friendly and the bikers courteous. The trail is very well maintained.

I have to stay in Tyler about 4 to 5 nights a month and if I get off of work on time then I am headed to Rose Rudman. Whether I am jogging or just walking, it is a great place to be outdoors. Many people exercise their dogs at the park and there is a large playground for kids. There is also a large area for Frisbee, catch or just sitting out in a lawn chair and reading a book. The trail runs from Grande to the loop and is about 4 miles. In the spring the honeysuckle and mimosas smell so good. A creek that runs along the trail part of the way. Everyone on the trail is courteous. There are bicyclists, walkers, joggers, and skateboarders all sharing this wide paved trail. It is a great place to workout or just go to clear your mind.

This recreational trail is actually a wide sidewalk that is a 4 mile round trip going from almost the loop on the North end to new Grande Blvd. on the south end and back. At the south end, you can also take the offshoot that runs along Grande over to Old Jacksonville, which is just over 2 1/2 miles each way. The north end of the loop, north of Shiloh actually has three different paths that can be used, as well as a few offshoots of those in one area. There are also fitness stations along the trail at various sposts for the very active to get in particular exercises. Joggers, walkers, runners, and pet owners share the same path, which usually isn't a problem. Having said that, there are a few bikers that create issues with their high speeds and rudeness. That, of course, causes some problems with some of the walkers because they get mad at the people on bikes. They then pretty much dare you to hit them if you are on a bike. My wife and I ride a tandem recumbent tricycle, which is much bigger than any other bike out there. It's about 2 1/2 feet wide and about 11 feet long. We are courteous and come up on people slowly and give them plenty of warning. Unfortunately, we do have issues with a couple of individuals that will try and take their half out of the middle and force us off the concrete and into the grass and mud. Otherwise, our biggest issue is dogs trying to climb on our laps since we are so low to the ground. The park department usually does a good job of keeping the trail cleaned up, and keeping the bathrooms cleaned. There is also a nice playground for the kids in the area near the bathrooms. All in all, this is one of the nicest trails of its kind I have ever seen.

In our four months in Tyler, we hadn't seen many people walking, biking, jogging, dog walking--just lots of people driving their huge SUV's--until the Rose Rudman Trail was recommended to us. We took our dog and drove to the city park that contains the trail. It is a paved trail that meanders through large trees in a city park. There are benches along the way for a rest and lots of shade. On one side of the trail is a drainage ditch/creek. On the other side, visible through the trees, is Broadway--one of the major thoroughfares. There is also a picnic shelter with bathrooms, picnic tables under the trees and a children's park. Dogs on leashes are welcome as are bikes and roller blades. The paved trail has two-way traffic but people do a good job of sharing the space. The trail is patrolled by young policemen on bicycles. We've been at the park several times on nice-weather weekends. It is good to see people enjoying the outdoors rather than cooped up in their cars.
