Very well laid out museum, with fossils of unsurpassed quality and conservation in the Americas and possibly in the world. Also very interesting for the laymen not only geologists! Spectacular.

Not much to see or do in the area but if you are going to Fossil Butte then it is just a few more miles drive to see the museum. The displays were informative but the heat was broke while we were there so we were cold and uncomfortable. No entrance fee was charged so it was all o.k.

I drove for 3 hours from Jackson to get here......we stumbled across the museum by chance. What a treat! this is a great collection of varied items across US history.....and it's simplicity of presentation is a delight! The main content is human history of the area......it covers in some detail the days of coal mining, and then explores other aspects of human life in Kemmerer (which is in the middle of nowhere!). There is a dentist chair and more and more....very interesting and worth however much time you can afford.

Stopped at the museum and found it very interesting and informative. Staff was a little 'so-so'; didn't find the gentlemen at the front desk to be very knowledgeable. Overall interesting but wouldn't go back.
