CCC Ponds is just south of Fremont Lake, which lies a quick 3.2 miles north of Pinedale. The water of both the lake and the ponds was crystal clear, the clearest I've ever seen. We took a short mile or so walk around the ponds, which was very pleasant except for the mosquitoes that seemed to be attacking us as one point. Wear long sleeves and pants! You can also walk over the dam that you hit along the way. Pretty cool to watch the water rushing so fast into the ponds. There were fly fishers and people out with their dogs enjoying the quiet, lush area that wasn't too busy at all. Good area for bird-watching as well.If you're feeling for a nice walk in a beautiful spot, this is the place to go. There are also some interesting signs up about the Civilian Conservation Corps that developed the area during the Great Depression.
