I do not like the cost to the taxpayer! What they had before was just as nice, if not nicer; more outdoors than the new one but the view was nice, pleasant to sit and have a lunch, etc., I often wonder if these governors realize what the un-needed overbuilding is doing to their land as a whole? I wonder the same of over-building of highways. We are using lands that were once wetlands, very important to the health of the whole planet, using farmlands to build huge homes on for say two people and a dog...just to we old people, we can see the outcome of the haste and waste in today's world.

One of the best visitor centers I've ever seen. It is actually a mini-trip in itself and depicts the scenery, wildlife, etc. for all of Wyoming. Great place to come to plan your trip! Very helpful people.

Having read past reviews I knew we had to stop, but frankly my expectations were pretty low - just how exciting can a highway rest stop be in Wyoming? But boy were we blown away once we got there! In addition to the obligatory facilities there were a number of well-done exhibits on history, geology, industry, recreation, etc. And it is all housed in a building facility that is an ecological showpiece. There is a wealth of information/maps/brochures about everything Wyoming that you can take away to prime your visit. Since we stopped on a fairly quiet morning we got to have a very interesting chat with the attendant who was on duty as well.

This is a whole new concept for a welcome center, WOW! It is combination lobby with bathroom, ecosustainable building construction, WY history/ museum and travel help desk. It was a great stop and really inspired me to see some of the places featured in museum area. Very impressive!

This is one of the nicest welcome centers anywhere. We really just stopped in to use the restrooms but ended up spending well over half an hour looking around. The woolly mammoth was especially great. And the lady who was at the information desk was extremely friendly and helpful. Oh yes, free coffee.

This is a must see Welcome Center. I didn't want to see it thinking it was the usual welcome center so I waited my husband in the car but after 2 minutes he told me I definitely had to see it too. In fact I was very surprised. It's like a museum and it's very informative, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We found lot of brochures and maps to take home for our next trip to Wyoming.

We've traveled the country extensively and always make a point to visit state welcome centers, which tend to offer a wealth of information, tips and recommendations, but the Southeast Wyoming Welcome Center is without a doubt the nicest, most comprehensive welcome center we've encountered to date. A walk inside the center feels more like entering a nice museum rather than a visitors' center, and one can find absolutely any information about most cities, attractions and activities in the entire state of Wyoming, along with interesting history and geological information about the state. The staff was adequate, not as excited as we expected them to be, but when we inquired about restaurants in the Cheyenne area, we were given a nice booklet which contained coupons and special offerings for Cheyenne attractions and restaurants. We would not have obtained this booklet, however, unless we asked.I highly recommend a visit to this welcome center if you wish to learn anything and everything about the great state of Wyoming.

We were very impressed with this ``Welcome Center.'' So much more than just a place to get a map and ``stretch your legs.'' The Welcome Center offers an excellent overview of Wyoming natural & human history. This is done through the means of very informative displays and interactive videos. The building itself is striking in design and blends well with the vast rolling landscape of South East Wyoming.

Stopped for the restrooms and found so much more. The welcome staff that day was extremely knowlegeable on every subject from local author of Longmire books to wind energy farms. This welcome center is set up as a mini museum. Take time to tour. Best free tour in town.

Most welcome centers are very basic, but this one was a fun little stop for our family. Our kids loved the dinosaur display as well as the jail display. It was a really fun place to get out, stretch our legs, and spend 15-30 minutes!

Over the years I have seen a lot of Welcome Centers but this by far is the best I've seen to date. The staff were very welcoming and friendly but the interior is something you won't want to miss. This is a must see visitors center for everyone who travels this way.

Not just an ordinary state welcome center. It did have literature but the displays illustrating the settling of the area, the exhibits of prehistoric animals and the cultural features of the state were very well done and informative

Great rest stop, modern and full of information and pamphlets for the local area and Wyoming state. Wyoming tourism is currently doing a sticker trail to promote the state! Ask here for your map and free stickers. The map will tell you other places in the state where you can get more stickers. A fun place to stop. It even has a big dinosaur skeleton!!

Do not pass this by. They have all kinds of tourist info and wonderful displays. Kids will love this stop as will everyone else.

This was an interesting little welcome center. It had lots of local info and several interesting displays, including an exhibit of a replica of a dinosaur. Also there were some things for kids to play on or if you just need to get off the road and stretch your legs, they offer a trail that is probably close to a mile that wraps around the property. worth the stop, but not the most extensive welcome center that i've seen. Also, they offer free coffee/tea.
