The Comanche Creek Brewery, a few miles north of Eagle Nest, NM is a fun adventure. Located on a private ranch, there is good signage to lead you to the rustic cabin that houses the brewery. The scenery and views are exceptional. And, the beers, yum! I'm not really a beer person, my husband is, but I'm changing my mind after trying their Touch Me Not IPA. Most IPAs are bitter, not so here. It was wonderful, flavorful and smooth. The 'Ol Smokey, a dark ale with a slight hint of smoke was also very good. For 50 cents you can get a small taster, so it's not expensive to try everything...then you can get a pint of your favorite and sit out on the patio, taking in the views as you enjoy their excellent brews. When visiting the Enchanted Circle area in northern New Mexico be sure and take some time to visit the Comanche Creek Brewery. Note: there is a port-a-potty in back. Not impossible for those in a wheelchair, but located on a ranch, dirt and rock, fairly level ground to the flagstone patio in front of the cabin. I walk with a cane and had no trouble.
