Stopped in Tucumcari to visit Blue Swallow Motel and this welcome center was next door. The ladies running the place were so kind ... they even made us a pot of coffee! Great Route 66 memorabilia, postcards, original jewelry, and fun conversation. They were even able to let us know which parts of Route 66 were still open to traffic. Definitely worth a tiny detour off I-40!!

This shop has a great selection of Route 66 memorabilia and souvenirs as well as some really nice antiques. Flora May has a lot of really nice vintage glassware as well as a huge Coca Cola collection.I bought several really nice Route 66 decals and some glassware (cordial and shot glasses). The glassware was from the 1960s and exactly what I remember from my childhood and was very reasonably priced. Also, check out the awesome doll collection. When I was there, there was a Mrs. Beasley doll and also a set of dolls from the wedding of JFK. It's a great shop.

Stopped by today to see some of the original Rt. 66, in Tucumcari, NM. Keeping the memories alive is Flora May, owner and clerk at the Welcome Center & Gift Shop. Nice variety of memorabilia, good humor, and a friendly smile--couldn't ask for more!

This shop beautifully fits the Route 66 element with both nostalgic and neo trinkets. Flora is the owner, she's very nice. Be sure to grab an official "Route 66" nostalgic cane sugar soda pop!

This gift shop is so unique. There are all kinds of gifts and souvenirs. Flora May is the owner, and she is just one of the most friendliest people you would ever want to meet. Her Barbie and Porcelain doll collections are awesome. The old Route 66 passes through the old part of town and you would think you went back in time. Worth your while to stop in ! Lorraine S.

If you're looking for authentic antiques; this is the place! I purchased several vintage postcards and a vintage route 66 ashtray (although I wanted so many more items! ) Ms Flora May Cordova was extremely pleasant and helpful; I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend stopping in!

Flora May Cordova who runs the Welcome Center & Gift Shop in Tucumcari is a wealth of knowledge about Route 66 thru eastern NM. She is also an avid Barbi Doll collector, displaying and offering for sale many hard to find dolls. If you are passing thru northern NM on I-40/Route 66, it is worth the time to stop and chat with her while having a quick refreshing drink in her shop. The shop is appropriate for all ages.

Wow! This gift shop has some really neat items that are unique to Route 66 and the one-of-a-kind motorcycle out front was really something to see. Ms. Flora May is so nice and friendly. I am glad we stopped and i suggest you do the same! You will be glad you did!

Have visited this shop on various occasions. Neat souvenirs and beautiful jewelry but most of all very friendly atmosphere. Restrooms are always available.

Naturally we all know that not only this, but nearly every other RT66 Main Street town, died a quiet death with the building of the Interstate that bypassed it. Here was an interesting look back at another period in time where the "mom and pop" establishments dominated the landscape and commerce and people took pride in their town.Sad to say, we drove thru many of the neighborhoods and were at a loss to understand that other than the multitude of hotels the hospital and perhaps the railroad, why there were so many people still living here. One could imagine the "Mayberryesk" feel that perhaps existed here in a time not so long ago.Places like this can make you feel that maybe today we're moving too fast.
