I have chartered with Capt Dave and his crew every year for at least 10 years. Quite frankly, I do not understand some of the negative comments. Capt Dave has always worked hard to locate fish, and the crew works hard baiting hooks, untangling lines, and netting or gaffing fish. They have an extreme amount of patience with the novice fishermen in my group and teach them as well as provide quality service. Capt Dave and his crew are also quite entertaining and keep us laughing the entire trip. The boat is very clean and well maintained by this professional and proud crew. I highly recommend this boat and crew.

I had a great time today on the Capt Dave. We fished in The Navesink River and Raritan Bay. The weather was great and the views were spectactular. Everyone on board had a great time. The boat was immaculate, the tackle was fine and the mates were very attentive. I am looking foward to our next trip.Bob

Both mates were smoking all day while walking around the boat helping people, which definitely polluted the fresh air. Patrons should not have to breath in the smoke from the mates. The mates should go up onto the top deck to smoke. Boat was crowded. Captain and Crew had different rules for the regulars vs. the non-regulars. Would definitely choose a different boat next time.

The Captain Dave was a clean roomy boat. The boat, poles and tackle were in really good condition. The captain is a little strict with the rules but nothing crazy. The mates were very good and were on top of everyone that pulled in a fish or had tangles. I recommend using them.

Just as said in the other bad reviews capt started the day at 6:45 yelling at me like a child should not be talked to. Because afterthe mates loaded all of our stuff I started to climb down the ladder to get on the boat. Then excuse me of being the first one that would try to sue him if I fell I've been on many boats chartered or party and never ever have seen a captain act in this manner.judging by the drastic difference in reviews here this man must be bipolar hope you don't catch him on a bad day

I can't imagine how this company has 11 "positive" reviews. Maybe Captain Dave has 11 friends who happen to like seamen? This guy's whole operation was shoddy from the start, and his attitude was BEYOND rude. I've been on about a dozen chartered fishing trips all along the East coast, and they've all gone out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time... whether the fish are biting or not. Such is not the case with this guy. He makes all the promises beforehand, but once he has your money in hand, he seems to just go through the motions. No effort is made to be polite, or even pleasant. Repeat business must not be important to him, and TRUST ME, we will not be coming back.

I have made several trips on the Capt. Dave and never failed to have a great time. His prices are fair and his boat is clean and most importantly safe. The poles and reels that he provided were in excellent shape and he never failed to provide a reasonable answer to any question that someone had. Experience is very important in the charter business and you can see that he loves boating and being out on the water. Very happy with our trip.

I went out with Captain Dave for a birthday fishing trip with a group of friends. Captain Dave and his crew were experienced and professional. They were patient and courteous and provided great advice to both the beginner and experienced fishermen in our group. Boat is clean and well stocked with plenty of equipment all in good working order. We all had a great time, caught plenty of fish, and I would highly recommend Captain Dave to anyone looking for a great fishing trip from the Jersey shore.

Captain Dave was a class act - we had such a great time on the boat! We had little luck catching fish - a few keepers, but Captain Dave and his crew member Al made the trip a blast. Captain Dave is a very professional person, and very fun and easy to talk to. We are planning a trip again because it was such a great time. I highly recommend Captain Dave!

Booked a charter fishing trip for my best friends bachellor party on the Capt. Dave. Very professional captain and crew right from boarding the boat. Mates helped everyone get their gear on board and were very friendly and courtious. Captain was great and we had a bunch of laughs with everyone and it was a joyful day. Captain put us on the fish and made several moves to put us in the right spot. Mates were top notch and worked hard with helping everyone out the entire time with great positive attitudes. Captain had no issue with my crew having a few beers on board. Whoever complained about that much have been a bunch of drunks and not fisherman so don't blame the captain or the boat. Most guys caught fish and some limited out. Would def recommend Captain Dave for a great fishing trip. All of my guys were happy and had a great experience, especially the groom because the trip was for him. Def plan on future trips with this great captain and the finest mates!! Tight lines!

Today, 9/12 was the 4th time I used Captian Dave to take business clients out for the day fishing and will do it again! The boat is super clean, Captian Dave tries hard to find fish, and the mate(s) are great. This trip, I had 12 profesionals and everyone had a great time. The cost is fair and a great value. We had 2 cases of beer and a bunch of water and food and caught a bunch of robins & Shark and Fluke. I would recommend Capitan Dave to anyone. Sam

Actually have made more than a dozen trips with Capt. Dave over the past few years with different combinations of friends and family. The facilities in the cabin for serving snacks and drinks are great. The crew is always helpful mostly, but not exclusively, with all aspects of fishing. Unlike charter fishing experiences in FL where I spend the winters we have always caught fish on each and every trip. On one trip in FL where we caught absolutely nothing the Captain sarcastically said,"That's why we call it fishing not catching". I can't imagine that happening with Capt. Dave. I believe he'd find live fish somewhere and send divers down with the fish to hang them on your hooks if he had to to be sure you had a good day.There's no better way to spend time with your friends or family than a day on Capt. Dave's boat.

I've done several trips on the Capt Dave he's very proffesional as is the crew , boat is very clean great experience and he tries very hard to put on fish , we will charter again he his very strict with drinking policies which I like if you are looking for a booze cruise this is not the boat for you but if you are looking for a fun day of fishing he's your guy

Myself and my group of fishing buddies have been using Capt. Dave for several years. We typically go out for Stripers and leave at 6am. We always have a great time and awesome photo op's. I caught my first Striper on Capt. Daves, as did my son. We bring plenty of "fishing sodas" and have a great time. Capt. Dave's prices are always reasonable and he will do his best to hunt down the fish. We will returning this spring 2012 to take another shot at the stripers. I would highly recommend this boat and Capt.

I was fortunate to have found the Capt. Dave fishing boat. I chartered the boat on June 11, 2011 for the JCAA Fluke Fishing Tournament. The weather was rainy and cool. We had a great day fishing. The entire boat caught 80 fish but only had 14 keepers due to regulations. Captain Dave himself knows wher to locate the fish. He did on occasion remind us about safety and drinking but that was for our well being and enjoyment. Everyone in my group of 14 had a great time. I do highly recommend chartering and fishing with the "CAPT DAVE". I am booked for June 2102 again and will continue to do so each and every year.Matthew McKeonCollegeville, PA
