It's a nice location to enjoy nature, an easy hike, relax by the lake, bird watch and take in nature.

Never know what birds you see while you stroll through the preserve. Spraying is a must, but it is worth it.

An old gravel pit at the center with some trails nearby the preserves as it name implies is relatively untouched. Not much to see though and make sure you cover yourself in insect repellant.

This is a nice place to take a walk with family. Even young children can handle the short trails and enjoy a walk in the woods. Birds are plentiful, though we did not see any other animals. We stopped in the nature center before walking to get maps, and the staffers there were friendly and helpful. Be aware that right now - the very end of winter - there are many branches and sticks on the paths, along with large muddy spots and a thick covering of leaves in some places; we had a few minor slips. Sturdy shoes and a watchful eye are called for.

Nice, peaceful, quiet (except by nj transit track) but lots of ticks, so do a check after exploring the area.

Our nephew, who sometimes goes to camp here, took us on a lovely hike through woods and along the lake. It was scenic, nice, and a great way to get some exercise in after Thanksgiving. Their Education Center was very well done, too. There are benches, access to the lake and lots of birds on the many hiking trails.

Visiting Philly for a ball game and spent a night near Princeton. Such a nice afternoon that I looked on trip advisor for a place to walk. Arrived about 4:45pm, right before nature center closed at 5:00pm. Folks could not have been nicer! Advised us to talk Maggie's trail for a In and back two mile walk. Lovely! Thank you!!

Liked finding another local spot that is untouched and has great paths. Disliked that no dogs are allowed, but it is because it is part of Audubon and there are birds there.

I love coming here for a relaxing hike and to take pictures. The visitor center has some neat stuff to look at and buy. If you like a nice hike and pretty scenery, visit the Plainsboro Preserve.

Plainsboro Preserve is a wonderful jungle experience in the midst of civilization. You take a small turn inside and enter a completely different world. The preserve is extremely well-maintained and informative boards have been placed at regular intervals informing the visitors about the flora and fauna present. There is also a small lake which runs along the course of the preserve. There are different trails depending on the time you wish to hike through. Lovely American beech trees welcomed us on the yellow trail with the sun peeping through them. There are also lovely little benches where one can sit if one is tired or just to experience the serene atmosphere. The preserve is so silent that you can hear several birds. We spotted a rabbit and various types of birds which we couldn't identify :( The visitor centre was closed so I hope to visit the preserve again.

This is a nice little getaway from New Jersey life. There are several miles of walking trails; some that hug the lake, another that goes out onto a peninsula into the lake, and others through the woods. We had the best time during winter trudging through the snow in the wooded trails.

We stopped here because a Barnacle Goose had been reported. Didn't find the goose, but found a great feeder set-up (a flock of a dozen Common Redpolls came in as we watched). The visitor center is very well done. It includes a well-stocked nature items store, natural history displays, some live animals, and excellent education facilities. The volunteer and professional staff we met were cordial and informed. Our first visit was so pleasant we returned a second day to watch the feeders and lake from the warmth of the visitor center. We'd like to join one of the naturalist-led hikes (but on a warmer day!).This is one of those very special places, not highly visible to the casual traveler. It merits a visit by all interested in an outdoor, natural setting experience. Plan at least 2 hours to enjoy it.

Love this place! I've been here many times in the spring and fall. Nice trails and nature center. It's the place to go to bird watch. The center has clean restrooms and a great selection of books for sale. They also sell bird feeders, jewelry.....but they want to be paid with the exact change (odd). I think they take credit cards. The center has a deck attached to it, with amphitheater style steps. Great place for kids, but check them for ticks.

The Plainsboro Preserve is a place to visit to hike and view the birds. It's close by where we live, ticked into the area, so easy to visit.

Not the most fancy location but really a fun place. Interesting history. Nice trails usually easy. Can spend a day easily if you want
