Went here today for the first time. What a beautiful park and gorgeous flowers everywhere. It's definitely very hilly so don't go if you can't handle going up the hills. But it is absolutely breathtaking

Not for strollers/bikes. Hilly but manageable with benches in shady spots. Best bargain for a $3- donation. Bring your camera. Lots of flora!

We visited on a weekend when they were giving complementary tours. It really added so much to have someone who could explain the history of the place along with all of the flowers and vegetation. We were probably three weeks ahead of peak bloom, but still enjoyed the natural beauty of the grounds and flowers and trees already in bloom.

After driving for 4 hours, it was refreshing stop to relax a bit. There were a few flowers showing along the pathways. We kept following the winding pathways all the way up and around. Although it is difficult to blot out the roaring 287 traffic, we are glad we made found this garden.

The Buck Garden is an outstanding example of humans working together with Mother Nature to create a living work of art. I especially enjoyed seeing the rustic wooden hand rails and bridges incorporated throughout this woodland rock garden, with its many rare flowers, shrubs and trees. We will have to return during the Fall and next Spring.

This is such a lovely place to stroll and relax until you get to the far end of the gardens. That's when the highway noise intrudes. Aside from that it is well worth a visit.

Carved out by the Wisconsin Glacier, gifted to the Somerset County Park System by the Buck family, developed by horticultural professionals and maintained by a dedicated staff and volunteers, Leonard J, Buck Gardens is a wonderful accomplishment in land usage. I enjoyed visiting the arboretum for years gaining inspiration and direction in formulating my own backyard garden. The natural rock outcroppings are interlaced with exotic and sometimes rare plantings. The gardens feature year round interest from spring wildflowers, summer iris and lillies, fall tree colors and winter virgin beauty. The trails are well marked and maintained. There is a drainage problem after heavy rains in some locations. The park is 33 acres which feature microclimates compatiable to a varity of horticultural life. There a numerous labels which add to the enjoyment of the experience. Benches and a gazebo are scattered around the property. Unfortunately, the layout of the property does not make for wheelchair accessibility nor is it particularily handicapped friendly. The visitor's center, originally the carriage house, has restrooms. On my numerous visits I have encountered many landscape artists busy filling there canvasses, as well as, photographers. If you enjoy nature, horticulture, beautiful landscaping or just a serene walk in a lovely garden, Leonard J. Buck Gardens will not disappoint.

Lovely garden part of the Somerset County Parks. Leonard Buck left a legacy of beauty that includes ponds and streams and a scramble up and down a hill. The spring highlight is the plentiful areas where primroses grow. Later in the season the water plants, iris and lilies will be blooming. Color carries through the summer and fall, but the spring is my favorite time in this garden. For the less nimble there are benches to enjoy the view.

It's a lovely garden with nice paths and places to sit -- can't wait for the Spring flowers! We usually go every month or two and it is very peaceful.

Very unusual rock formations with plants in and between them. Unique. Gave me lots of good ideas on which plants to place on my own property. Neatly kept.

I have taken a number of visits to Leonard Buck gardens and enjoyed each time. Winding paths take you through various flower beds and rock formations. The pond with a bridge is very serene. Your visit can be done in 30 minutes or 2 hours depending on your pace. It is a short ride from the USGA Golf House and museum so a combined visit is doable.

Went to this part with my mother and father to walk through, for my mother and I loved to observe all the wonderful flowers that surround the walkpaths of this garden.

Very beautiful gardens. Kinda small property so you can cover the entire place in short time. Large variety of plants. Bring a camera to capture all the colorful flowers. Clean and well maintained.

I go here frequently, it is in a valley so there is a sense of being surrounded by nature. The plants are mostly naturally occuring, with some plantings of flowers and shrubs. also there may be birds, not handicap accesible. Don't go within 3 days of heavy rain.

An absolutely beautiful place for wedding pictures. My daughter had her preview there. Her fiance was waiting for her on one bridge, while the parents and bridal party looked on from the other bridge. Afterwards, we took pictures by the water. I can't wait to see the pictures when they come in, but I know they will be beautiful.
