the tea shoppe

I can't count how many times I have driven past Ideal Plaza and seen the sign advertising tea and frozen yogurt and kept on going, so I could kick myself now for all the time I wasted after the delightful visit there this week. My friend had a discount coupon from a mailer and said we were having an adventure. I had no idea what to expect when we pulled up to the store, but the minute we walked in to the expansive store, I was in awe: the front of the shop is dedicated - in the true sense of the word - to everything tea, from varieties of teas (boxed and leaves) to cups, books, serving utensils, etc. I have never seen so many tea- related items in one place! We were left alone to shop, which was nice. We decided to start with frozen yogurt, which was equally impressive. It is serve yourself, then add toppings - so many, so decadent, so delicious - then take the cup or cone to the register to pay. I had a cup of amaretto and chocolate caramel turtle yogurts with a conglomeration of toppings I am too ashamed to admit to consuming. My friend had amaretto and pistachio yogurts in a cup and was equally guilty. Everything was fresh and tasty. The place is spotless. As we were finishing the yogurt, the owner presented us with glasses of iced tea - two different fruity varieties - to drink. Needless to say, we were completely full when we left. There is a section in the back of the shop with wrought iron tables where patrons can sit and enjoy their beverages and/ or yogurt. We were told that they do basic tea parties; hopefully, they will offer complete ladies's teas in the future. Prices are very reasonable. We will have to return another time since we were too full to sample any hot tea. I hope this charming little shop is successful since it is simply adorable.
