I've been to the Montclair Museum several times. I like that they feature a different exhibition a few times a year. The volunteers and workers are always very friendly and helpful. They also offer different events in the evening depending on the season.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your visit. Kids (under 12) are always free at MAM and we offer a variety of family-friendly programming, which you can find on our website. I hope you give us a second chance!

We enjoyed past visits to the Montclair Art Museum. But we were reluctant to take in its current exhibit "100 Works for 100 Years: A Centennial Celebration." Collection-based exhibits at regional museums can be musty and boring. Boy were we wrong! The Montclair Art Museum specializes in Native American Art, and American art from the 1700's on. The 100 Works exhibit showcases its strong holdings in American art. We found works by Childe Hassam, Julian Weir, Gilbert Stuart, Thomas Eakins, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe, Barbara Kruger, Carrie Mae Weems and many more. An early, uncharacteristic Andrew Wyeth showed his roots in classic representational painting. A wall sculpture, Girl on a Chair by George Segal, hijacked our attention.Don't make our mistake and put off visiting. The 100 Works for 100 Years exhibit closes November 9, 2015, but you'll want to see it more than once.

One of the best little museums in the metro area. Celebrated 100 years of American art. Free first Thursdays is the place to be to celebrate art and culture.

This museum is quiet, with a lovely permanent collection. We've also enjoyed some amazing special exhibits. Well worth a visit!

Montclair is really fortunate to have such a classy museum in town.Very good exhibitions, well presented. What's especially good are the periodic theme exhibitions

I was visiting a friend who lives not too far from the Montclair Museum. We wound up going in just to see what was showing. She is a member and suddenly remembered there was an opening. Their exhibits are always well mounted, and their permanent exhibits are also worth a look. This time with some wine. Fun!

I think this is the best museum I have been too. They have the perfect amount of pieces in it. You can look at everything in one shot without being "Arted Out" They even have a gift shop that is pricey but hey what can you expect. The building looks small from the outside but is huge inside. They have plenty to do and is nice if you want to spend a rainy day somewhere.

I found the museum on trip advisor so we checked it out. It was a nice evening. We visited first Thursday, which was free admission. There were several different events going on at once inside and outside. Each person enjoyed the museum in a different way. I would have enjoyed more music and more food.

Interesting installations for adults and children. Native American art , great atmosphere and events that include the community are always a lot of fun.

Attended their "First Thursday" event. Enjoyed a glass of wine while listening to a local college group. Overall a rather enjoyable event, and look forward to returning.
