The Funplex is an indoor family amusement center, open year round...

The Funplex is The Old Gray Mare, it ain't what it used to be. Feels like they tried to cram too much into the limited space so they're a "Jack of all trades and a Master of none." Still, a worthwhile diversion if you have children who get easily bored and need a place to expend some excess energy.

you can't go wrong here. Fun for everyone, every age. You will end up spending hours here. They are building up the waterpark area so summertime should be a blast.

Imagine Chuck E. Cheese on steroids! That's what this place is. Lots of rides, arcade games, and, my son's favorite-- Magiquest. It is just as noisy and chaotic as Chuck E. Cheese, and the target age range is the same, but that is where the similarities end. At Funplex, the staff is excellent-- friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. When a machine ran out of tickets, a staff member promptly came to fix it. No lines at the ticket redemption center. And CLEAN! I constantly saw staff sweeping and mopping, and the bathrooms were always clean enough too. Food was somewhat overpriced, but not excessively. And they had a good selection of typical kid food as well as healthier options such as wraps and salads. I was most impressed that, even though I had bought our tickets online, when we arrived the cashier said they were offering a better deal, and she made up the difference in arcade tokens. My only complaint is that the ticket redemption center had lots of realistic-looking toy weapons as prizes. Seriously? After all the crap in NYC last summer, who offers realistic-looking guns and knives to kids? Other than that, the place was a pleasant surprise.

Start your weekend visit at opening time for the best experience before the crowd comes in. On a recent Saturday and first time visit, I did not realize that the early bird wrist band for $20 would be good for unlimited attractions for the full day. Instead, I paid $30 per child online the night before. Funplex in East Hanover reminded me of iPlay America in Freehold, NJ. The décor here is not nearly as sophisticated or refined as iPlay, but it is as clean. The facility and equipment appear new and well maintained. Check the web site for height restrictions on rides/go-carts. A wrist band would not be a good choice for very little children, but on my visit with 8 and 9 year olds it was worth the price, even considering my ignorance regarding the early bird special. We visited from around opening time at 10:00 until about 5:00 when it was becoming intolerably crowded. Some of this time was spent eating lunch in their café. The food was not cheap but not bad. The Foam Frenzy area was good for at least an hour or more of play, and appropriate for all ages. It seems to start getting crowded around lunch time and gets worse with longer lines from that point. My feeling is that a visit with children later in the day might be unpleasant due to the volume of customers. The video game area is somewhat small, but has a reasonable variety of modern games. I saw a limited stack of small lockers in the video game area and they have a convenient coat check at the entrance.

Funplex had a lot to choose from. The prizes were actually nice and lasted. The go-carting was great and did not have very strict rules

Loud, crowded, poor line of sight thoughout so easy to lose track of your kids. If you have kids that can stay in the massive ball pit/war zone, that is good. If yours are a bit older and want to go on rides, they better not wander or they would be lost fast. Place apears safe but wouldnt want to try to find wandering young kids. My kids have been coming here for 10 years (yes they stiil come as teeanges for the ocasional party) but if you are a worrying parent with a younger child plan on one adullt per kid following them around closely.

I highly recommend the Funplex East Hanover for your child's birthday party. The mix and match build your own party option is great for all ages from 7 to 13. You can get a rack rate party that they do for you or you can mix and match different activities with unlimited laser tag, or go karts, or thrill rides such as bumper cars or free fall. The Funplex has so many options that anyone can plan a party for any number of kids from 10 to 22. With various activities to choose from you can have a party for a 7 year old or a party for a 13 year old and the parties would be completely different. Overall I found this place to be very reasonably priced as parties go. It is loud and crowded there is no way around that. The party staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the cake was delicious and they also provided us pizza and food for the adults for one price. I highly recommend the Funplex in East Hanover for the summer water slides, go karts magic quest, laser tag parties, amusement park rides, arcade games, foam frenzy or just a day trip as a treat.

My 2 granddaughters loved this place. However, the lines for the car ride were very long and that is the best attraction. Considering the time spent in that line, I felt is was expensive since the rest of the rides were not that exciting. However, it is a place to go on a rainy day to keep children occupied.

This place is heaven if you are 12 or under and a giant headache if you are any older. It's basically an indoor amusement ride com street fair atmosphere with hundreds of kids running wild.Food is available and to be generous, it's somewhat edible.

I had a hard time deciding between Funplex and bounce-u however it seemed like Funplex had more to offer and we had been there before. To start off it did exceed my expectations. We had a host by the name of Diamond and she was wonderful!!! The only minor problem was a staff member that was not pleasant and unprofessional whom was acting very juvenile. I didn't care to take her name down and make a complaint only because it was the end of the party and i was much more focused on my child enjoying himself. Overall we had a great time and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Went to the Funplex today for the 2nd time. We started with Magi Quest. We played for about 10 minutes until we realized our wand was acting up. Had to return it for a new one and start all over again. Then we started the "lightning" quest. Toward the end of our quest discovered the items in the "Princess room" were not working. We left and came back several times and they never did work. I noticed other patrons with the same problem. We could never complete that quest and had to start over again. I mentioned this the the girl on the way out and she acknowledged they had been having problems(gliches) that morning but was never offered any compensation. Also, when we went to play skeeball there were only 2 balls in the machine that release, I had to get someone to fix that. We starting playing air hockey and after only 1 score, the machine never returned the puck to us. I found a girl that offered us our money back. However, 10 minutes later I saw someone else with the same problem at the air hockey table. I kept a close eye on my kids as there are ALOT of people there, many unsupervised, running around and no security in sight. I would never leave my kids there unattended. I did think they lacked some games for younger kids like "whack a mole" or a small air hockey table or little "car rides" or even a small basketball game.

Me and my husband decided to take our kids (9,5,3,1) there! OMG what a waste! The lady who sold me the tickets insisted in selling me the "Extreme Bracelet" for all my kids even when I keep telling her that the baby and my 3 year old were not going to used all the stuff! She sold me a different one for the two little ones because they need it( as per her) anyway we paid $120 yeah!! But here comes the very bad part of the trip my kids were not able to go in the Machines alone so what that means is that ether me or my husband have to buy a ticket to go with them! More $$ when it comes to the Arcade you paid $20 for 100 tokens right? No it's a big lie we counted them to divided for my three kids and they actually give me only 70!!! I called one of the managers and he just told me "I'm sorry the machines are acting up today" and walked away!! Part 3 of the bad trip a bottle of water is $3.50 Ridiculous!! And to top it all we decided to play one machine called "Road Trip" to make so tickets right, so I won what it was suppose to be 500 tickets and when we went to the machine to counted it only count 200!!! I called another manager that was very nice to us and give me a Boucher for 750 tickets that the kids used to get little stuff at the Prize Center! My advice to you parents out there is to not take your kids here this place is crowed you will get people pushing you around, cutting the line, taking your tickets if you are not paying attention! If you want to waste your money them go here they are the masterminds in that! Please take your kids somewhere else! I will never in my life come back to this place!
