My family and friends go to the Shrimp Box quite often, especially during the summer. It is a great casual place with very good food and a very nice atmosphere. It can be a bit noisy though. Food portions are large enough that you almost always take home a doggie bag. Entrees come with the salad bar which has a very large selection of items. Love to get a seat by the water. Service is good considering they are usually quite busy all of the time. We eat here at least 10 times over the summer and it is always good. We have even been here for Mothers Day a couple times over the last few years. Can't beat the early bird special but you do have to get there quite early.

beautiful day today at Outside the Box. Lunch with friends to end their visit from Paris, France. They loved it. And we didn't care that the service was slow, we just enjoyed the view and the company. The food was very good today. The crab cake sandwich was flavorful. The shrimp in garlic app was excellent, as was the bisque. It's a great spot. Just relax and enjoy

The combination of menu and buffet, and the wide combination of foodfare allows for a great time. This is when a crowd is fun!

3 adults and 3 kids (ages 4-10) for dinner on outside patio. Visit started off wonderfully. Great view, friendly staff and beautiful weather. Ordered kids meals first and adults shortly after. Kids food arrived quickly but waited long time for adults meals. A very very long time. Kids were long finished with their meals when it started to rain. Place couldn't handle moving patio guests inside. Adult meals finally arrived as it started to rain and staff started bagging it to go. Ultimately staff found tables under tent to seat us and went beyond to make sure we had the best time possible given the circumstances. Our waiter Patrick was amazing. Stressed but totally handled the situation the best he could. All wait staff pitched in as a team to address backed up orders, long waits, rain and not enough tables. Food was good. Drinks were well done. All in all a decent experience considering the crowd and rain. Would go again. Patio is lovely and staff were professional and worked well under pressure.

My friends and I spent the day at the dog beach in Manasquan. We stopped by and asked if we could bring our dogs in if we sat on the outdoor patio. They were super accommodating and allowed it as long as we kept the dogs out of the aisles so as not to get in the way of the servers. The clam chowder was full of clams and delish!! We split appetizers as meals, which wasn't a great idea as we were still hungry, but that was our fault. Overall a satisfying experience and I'm sure that we will be stopping back again!!

We usually stop here after our annual trek to Point Pleasant Beach. Food is good, includes salad bar, and sunrise specials also includes drink and dessert. Variety of seafood entrees, as well as items for landlubbers, and kids menu too. Love the location right on the water looking over the marina and the fishing boats. Great atmosphere. And we have always had helpful attentive service as well. Compared to what you'll pay on the boardwalk for pizza or burgers, spend a few more dollars and enjoy a nice relaxing meal here.

This will be a quick review because its pretty straight fwd.The food is AVG but you get a bit of it for what you pay.. its not bad.. and its not great.The view is great fun to watch the boats come and goOur Service was greatWe waited less than 3mins between drinks (beer, mixed) so the bartender was on point.They offer a salad bar so no one should go home hungry =)I think they operate based on volume, its okay food at a decent price.. and they keep the drinks coming.. if we had bad service or this place didnt have the view it does.. it would be 2 stars and possibly 1... but everything added up.. its not bad.. I would not send a seafood lover here.. maybe someone that does not live near the coast that does not get a lot of fresh sea food.. they will prob love it.. but if you eat a lot of seafood... I have a feeling you will find it avg at best.

I like going here for the early dinner special.. You get the salad bar, entrée and a great dessert.. the size of the cake is a big piece...LOL. I suggest you ask to sit by the window so you can look at the boaters coming in to dine... They do accept reservations... IF you go at night... it's hard to find parking otherwise if you are there during the day no problem.

We just had a great meal at the Shrimp box outside patio, beautiful view. The only distraction was the service was a bit slow had to ask for our order to be taken, and then we noticed that the entire staff was watching the world cup, US vs. Belgium, so it was understandable that they were distracted. This restaurant reminded us a lot of a favorite place of ours in Maine. Fresh authentic and a fair price.

Just returned home from dinner tonight, this restaurant was deeeeelicious!!! I ordered clams casino, crab dip, oysters, clams, and the captains choice, I am so stuffed and happy. The salad bar was excellent, including the fresh blueberry tonic special drink. Seafood feast all while sitting to an amazing view!

Food less than expected...service almost non existent but the view is great with boats going by all day. The food was so bad it was forgettable . The service was poor as the servers seemed very young and under -experienced . We would not return .

The Shrimp Box is a very pleasant place to eat. You have a view of the water and their casual lunchs or delicious dinners are always excellent and priced appropriately. The Patio Bar is a very fun place to have a burger for dinner. Again, you are seated with a view of the water/boats, the bar and waitress service is excellent and on many nights there is a great band playing so you can sing along, dance or just enjoy the music. It is really a fun place to gather with friends.
