Why is this the first review? Has no one gone slightly off the beaten path to this terrific little amazingly interesting museum? Here is the early history of oyster planting, harvesting, shucking, canning and shipping all wrapped up in one beautifully organized museum in the actual oyster sheds. The docks are accessible and this is the home to the only New Jersey Tall Ship. There are educational events, environmental and monthly special events too. It was a fantastic find on a rainy day on our way to Peter Shields Inn, Cape May! Not to be missed. Kids 5 and older would enjoy it. Small café on site and a gift shop. Easy for strollers, elevator to the second floor. Make the short trip off the main highway. You won't regret it.
