The hours to visit this site are rather limited so make sure it is open. The house belonged to Richard Somers, the son of the original settler John. The building is very well kept and maintained. It is furnished with 18th and 19th century artifacts from the Atlantic County Historical Society. The house now is the original 18th century size. Somers family lived in it for 200 years . When they gave it to the State of NJ in 1937 it had ten extra added rooms which were demolished. The mansion is located on a little hill and is easy to find.
