Palace of Depression is slowly making a comeback. I stopped in today to check the status and was very impressed with the progress. It's still gonna be years before completion but I'm happy to see they are still working on it. Until it's complete, just keep in mind.. The Palace of Depression was originally built by former Alaska gold miner George Daynor. This building was a reaction to the Wall Street Crash of 1929. It is currently in the process of being rebuilt using a mosaic of bricks, glass Wheaton Arts, and various found objects. This structure speaks to folk art enthusiasts and anyone with an imagination. The restoration is funded by volunteers and donation money.
