Have taken the NY Waterways Ferry for over 25 years, downtown and midtown. On time, clean and most of all SAFEPerfect for woman traveling in the evening, older people going to the theatre and dinner or families.I get to my office in Lower Manhattan faster than my co-workers living on the Upper West Side!

If you are traveling into Mid-town NYC from the Jersey side, this is a very efficient way to go. Plenty of parking available on site. Ferries on a very timely schedule especially at prime times. Once across the river, shuttle buses are waiting to get you to the theater district as well as some other popular stops. Shuttles returning to the ferry from city locations are not so timely except at the rush hours.Spectacular view of NY skyline is a BONUS!

Although a tad pricey. Takes 8 minutes to cross from Jersey to Manhattan where there are free bus services to run you up and down the city. Very good

We traveled from my daughter's apartment in Weehawken by ferry to the New York City transit authority bus terminal. It was very easy, cheap and fairly fast. The ferry was clean and warm. It served a purpose, but I wouldn't make the trip for the adventure.

We took the ferry - too much money - no bus schedule - no communication - nowhere to tell you where you could be picked up or dropped off or when/ where or anything. I called the bus operator for bus schedule and waited 15 minutes to get an agent and didn't ever get through. We ended up taking a taxi back to the ferry station and that cost us $18. Better off taking the city bus. There is no communication when it comes to their bus schedules!!

While taking the ferry is great for my daily commute, it is expensive, but generally worth it. My major complaint is that the buses going crosstown get stuck in traffic which is not totally within control of NYW ... however, I do wish they allow the windows to be opened and that some of their drivers would occasionally be defensively/cautiously aggressive in their driving to help passengers catch their ferry rides, especially once the ferries start departing once every 20-30 minutes.

I use this service at times. They do not run all the time and often have limited service. Also do not be late, they wait for no one, even a large group of people running down the gangplank they will leave without (the ferry bus was late). They at least are on time and they run when they are supposed to.

This ferry runs every 15 minutes and is a great way to save money by staying across the Hudson river.

Love taking the ferry to and from NYC. However, the parking prices seem to go up every couple of months - $14 per day and counting. Awful high for unattended parking on the NJ side of the hudson.

The NY Waterway Ferry is great...quick access to NYC from NJ and at a reasonable RT price ($18.00). My only advice is to be at the dock on time...the ferry waits for about 1 minute after docking...so don't be late!

Husband took ferry R/T into Manhattan for $18. If you hold on to your voucher, provides bus service in Manhattan for the day. Arranged through Concierge at the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel which is just steps from ferry pier.

We were excited to book a one day ferry trip up the Hudson from Highlands, NJ. It was touted as a Fall Foliage trip with a stop in Cold Springs, NY. Honestly, the leaves were beautiful, but there was one BIG problem. The windows (both lower and upper decks) on the ferry were so filmy and caked with salt spray that no one could see anything out of the windows! It was, unfortunately, to cold to spend time out on the top deck. In addition, while there was a guide on the boat to point out the sites, but his amplification system did not work and we could not hear him at all for the first 1.5 hours of the trip (not that we could have seen anything out of the window anyway). While the boat was comfortable, I can't imagine how they can advertise a sightseeing trip and then not clean the exterior windows so that anyone can possibly see anything (and believe me, I'm not exaggerating). Never again!

My daughter and used the ferry as our primary method of transportation to and from NYC. Free bus rides are offered upon arrival at the terminal in NYC. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a quick and fun ride. Make sure you are sitting down because the ferry cranks it up and you make it across the Hudson in a couple of minutes. Being a tourist, we felt like we were getting the real east coast experience by riding the water ferry!

Skip the PATH and the subway on the weekend and take the NY Waterway Ferry into NYC. Enjoy scenic views that tourists pay big dollars for on the "Harbor Cruise." Watch the timetable as the last boat may leave you if you plan for a late night out in NYC. This is a great way to bring your bike or skates and enjoy the green way surrounding Manhattan island. Grab some sushi or a Starbucks in Weehawken prior to taking the Ferry. Parking can be accomplished in the lot next to the grocery store and dry cleaners at River's Edge for free just don't leave your car there overnight. There is also street parking on Blvd East or at Pathmark which is a short, scenic, walk downhill to the Ferry.

All day under cover parking for $15-00. Return ferry crossing to World Financial Centre for $23-50. Very professionally run outfit. Who would want to drive?
