The park has been around for a long time. Now it has received a facelift. The atmosphere is great, quiet and table with umbrellas set up to enjoy your lunch withoutthe sun glare which you can purchase from many restaurants in the area. Nice place to relax your thoughts too.

Since the park has re-open the changes are great! Chess, yoga, a mobile library, Jazz, Poetry and other activities are happening! And there's a play area for the KIDS!

Need to get rid of reviews before June 2014. Since its reopening recently after a wonderful renovation, Military Park is a delightful oasis and an inspiring park for individuals and families. Visit and soak up the clean, fresh and engaging atmosphere. Landscaping is top notch. It is truly a phenomenal park in the center of the city.

Previous Military Park has always been a place to walk through on the way to NJPAC or the Historical society. Now its a destination unto itself. Clean, pedestrian friendly, and beautiful, I am excited to visit more often. From the reading room (my new favorite part) to the ping ping tables to the yoga classes and line dancing, this space has been transfromed into a community meeting place. I hope that visitors and residents take the time to enjoy!

The park is not maintained well. There is bird poo all over the benches and trash on the grass. there are no fences either and there is too much traffic around the park.

Newark is doing an amazing job cleaning up the area. But the isn't your typical park. Made mostly of concrete one monument and a bit unsafe

Pretty nice park, nothing great. activities usually free. Just get out of the area before dark, and always keep a careful watch for crine even during the day.

Military Park in Newark is your average little dedication park - nothing special. I hear there are plans to spruce it up and liken it to Bryant Park in New York City. Hmmm, don't know about that but sprucing it up a bit (well a lot) will definitely do wonders for the downtown Newark landscape as well as revitalize interest in the park itself.

Estando hospedados en frente, con niños, fue una opción casi inevitable llevarlos a jugar. La pasaron genial. Hay algunos juegos de goma para armar, ping pong y mesitas con sillas para sentarse. Hay periódicos y libros disponibles.El policía que cuida es muy respetuoso y siempre atento a que todos se comporten.

Boa escolha para uma corrida diurna nos arredores da cidade. Fica cheio de dia, mas não sei se é muito seguro à noite, pois há áreas de região de Newark que dizem ser perigosas. Bem arborizado.
