I had some time to kill so I took the dog for a walk through Dartmouth College. I thought it was extremely pretty with the river close by and the small town to look around in. Combine this with all the history of Dartmouth and I think it is worth a stop if you are nearby. I also know that there are some tours of the area that are available if you have more time.

The town has a great small town feel with just the right amount of amenities. Room to room in town (culture at the HOP, movies, bookstores, shopping, as well as campus culture and great libraries.

On our Roadtrip we saw all the Ivy League Colleges in New England. From our point of view, Darthmouth was one of the most beautiful considering landscape and architecture. The ensemble of houses looked very neat and had a very nice atmosphere and whoever is interested in Ivy league campuses shouldn't miss this one.

Love the green, the atmosphere, the buildings. Love to revisit where my Father went to college, see his dorm, see what the medical school looks like now.... love the small stores and college feel. It is always a treat to get back to Dartmouth.

The campus is beautiful, historic, and evokes the spirit of very high-level learning and accomplishment. Any student you see has the potential to go out and change the world. For now, they study in this amazingly beautiful setting. River hiking trail within easy walking distance, too.

We passed the morning with the Docent from the Hood Museum seeing and hearing the story of the Orozco Murals in the Baker Library, Dartmouth University. Such a treasure, a MUST SEE for those who love art and history. Be sure to schedule the tour with a docent because they are a wealth of knowledge.

Dartmouth is magnificent! It offers the resources of a major university in a small college setting, and the setting is superb. Where else could one find a college that actually sits on the Appalachian Trail? Walk the campus end to end. Wander through classic old buildings and to the surrounding river, pond, and (yes, really) gorgeous historic cemetery. View superb art, from the amazing Orozco murals in Baker Library to the Hood Museum. And don't miss the most important feature -- the classroom. Year after year, Dartmouth -- the smallest school of the Ivy League -- wins the #1 national ranking in TEACHING. Sit in a classroom or two and learn why. What a very special place!

...a must stop when in the area. The campus is lovely and the green is a nice place to relax and take a few moments to appreciate New England. Hanover is a pleasant town for a stroll and the campus abuts the town. Stop and appreciate this fine institution!

We spent a half day enjoying art and culture at Dartmout. They have a wonderful information booth that was open on a Sunday on the main lawn. We loved Jose Orozco's powerful murals in the basement of the College Library. Done between 1932-4, they are clearly explained in free color brochures (or free audio tours.) The Hood Art Museum is also free and had wonderful Assyrian cuneiform pieces as well as a Picasso and other famous artists. The explanations were clear and helpful.

Very easy to find because the town is so small. We walked around upper campus in about ten minutes just looking for the oldest building. Nothing eye catching. Not sure it has the panache of other Ivy League schools but seems perfect for someone who is looking for a small town atmosphere

I came, i saw and I left. Of course, I went to the Tuck School of Business and took pictures and touch the building. Other than that, there are no cool/ideal pictures to take. It is an open campus. Parking is very easy on Sunday. Very sleepy town. About 10 minutes off the expressway. I really can't add more than the Hotel on campus was nice.

What a nice campus. Wow is all I can say. walked around for a while trying to take it all in. If you have the chance, pls drive though and stop in to take it all in.

The Inn is the only place to stay as you advance in age!The College is deeply addicted to the edifice complex. It sucks up a ton of $ but affords the visitor and alumnus a lot to see.The Inn has the noisiest restaurant but good food. The Canoe Club is well muted for noise but mediocre good food.Don't forget your umbrella unless you are staying at the Inn.

Beautiful, typical New England campus. Orozco (sp.?) mural in basement of the library is worth a look.
