We visited while in Dover for the weekend. The tasting was great and our server(Moira no idea how to spell it) was very knowledgable and so fun and friendly. Our favorites were the spiced rum, vignoles and the maple liquor was to die for. We plan to visit again the next time we are in the area as they have new items coming out.

Flag Hill Winery is New Hampshire’s largest winery. It has won a number of awards and accolades. In 2012 and 2013, it won Best of New Hampshire as Local Winery in the Coffee Shops, Beverages and Bars category. This is my favorite winery for several reasons. First, it produces award-winning wines from grapes grown in its own vineyard. Being in Northern New England, that means growing cold-weather grapes. It is not a buyer of other vineyards’ grapes which makes Flag Hill Winery stand apart from other New Hampshire vintners. Niagara, Cayuga, La Crescent, and Vignoles grapes are used for the white wines. Marechal Foch and De Chaunac grapes are used for the red wines. Second, it offers a variety of wines from the serious conventional wines such as the medium-bodied Marechal Foch, a dry, earthy red wine and the sweet Flag Hill Cayuga White with notes of citrus and exotic fruits to the fun/dessert wines such as the smooth Flagg Hill Wild Blueberry Fruit Wine and the rich, sweet Flag Hill Raspberry Fruit Wine. All four mentioned are among my personal favorites. Third, the staff is very knowledgeable and well-trained.Fourth, many of the prices are in the $12.95 to $13.95 range so they are very affordable.Reason #5 which is the fact that Flag Hill never rests on its laurels. It innovates and creates new and exciting products. This was evidenced when Flag Hill also became a distillery and released the award-winning General John Stark Vodka and went on to create Flag Hill White Rum Josiah Bartlett Barrel Aged Apple Brandy, White Mountain Moonshine, and several liqueurs including the unique Sugar Maple Liqueur, plus Karner Blue Gin, another award-winner.These factors all add up to quality wines and spirits. On my most-recent visit, I asked Mara what was new. She was demonstrating and offering tastings of Maiden’s Blush, a rosé wine that’s a blend of Cayuga, de Chaunac, and Niagara grapes. The name was likely taken from the Maiden’s Blush apple. The bouquet leaned toward the Cayuga and Niagara grapes developed in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. It was on the light-bodied side, but the taste had a very grapey intensity. It was an interesting wine. I had my fellow wine enthusiast sample it. He agreed. He also liked it, but he was more interested in the Vignoles, a crisp, slightly dry white with distinct fruity pineapple notes---a classic companion flavor to this grape. Then, she had us try the Karner Blue Gin which was named for the NH State Butterfly. Classic gins are made with grain. This gin is made with apples. The bouquet almost smells like lavender, but it‘s juniper. There are several botanicals to balance the aroma and taste. On tasting, the zesty lemon and grapefruit flavors came out. This is not a soft, mellow gin. It’s a bit edgy which gives it some character and complexity. It’s a good gin to use in mixed cocktails. Karner Blue was the #4 gin of Wine Enthusiast’s Top 50 Spirits on 2014. It’s the #4 gin in the world. It scored 93. It was right behind Watershed Distillery Bourbon Barrel Gin and Damrak Amsterdam Gin at 94 and Tanqueray No. Ten at 96. It was $25.95 for a 750ml bottle. For anyone visiting the New Hampshire’s Seacoast Region, Lakes Region or Merrimack Valley Region, I highly recommend a visit to Flag Hill Winery on a Saturday or Sunday for a tour that is reasonably priced at $5.00, followed by a visit to the tasting room and small gift shop. The visit could be coupled with a visit to Bedrock Gardens, also in Lee, on one its Open House days which are usually the Saturday and Sunday of the third weekend of month from mid-spring to early fall. The winery also hosts events and weddings. If you found this review helpful, kindly click YES below.

I've only gone to the shop here, to get a friend the wine she loves. It is a quaint little shop, with some fun items. Full selection of wine, and a bunch of other things as well.

We have made many trips to Flag Hill with visiting friends, and they all want to return when they come to NH. They have many wonderful wines, but also some great spirits for tasting. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, great tour and nice little gift shop. Highly recommend you try their vodka - the best I have ever tasted!

They offer a wide variety of their own wines in addition to vodka and rum. The most interesting offering is the White Mountain Moon Shine.Friendly people and liberal with the sampling

We have always wanted to go here. It's been on our bucket list for awhile. Well, today was the day. We did not get there in time for a tour but we very much enjoyed the tasting. We tried many different wines and spirits. Their limited edition wine was a red plum. It's absolutely delicious!!! Also the Maple Liqueur is to die for!!!! What a deal this is. For $5.00, you get to sample at least 6 different wines/spirits to include vodka, spiced rum, moonshine, liqueurs and wines. If you want to keep your signature wine glass you can or get a $5.00 credit towards a purchase of wine. My husband and I gladly gave up the wine glass and bought several bottles to take home. What a fun thing to do. Will definitely go back and take the tour and purchase more wine.

Their sign behind the tasting bar says we welcome you kindly, and they do! We joined the tour. It was very informative. We have visited other New England wineries. Most of the wines are on the sweeter side for me. Flag Hill wines could contend with some of the "big guys". Pleasantly surprised! Great staff and the tasting room was a lot of fun!

This review is just for the tasting room. We arrived at a busy time and there was a few people at the bar. Despite this, the staff spent enough time with us to explain the wine and give us the attention we needed. The wines are interesting, a mix of the local grapes. This gave the wines a distinctive flavor and aroma that was very different from the traditional wines.

The tour guide could be a stand-up comedian, and knows how to work a crowd. She is extremely knowledgeable and attentive to guests. You will learn a lot on this tour. The grounds are stunningly beautiful.

I visited for a wedding; the vineyards were a lovely backdrop to a breathtaking sunset and the lawns were well groomed. The event tent was exceptionally large and nice! Staff was attentive, buffet was delicious!

A family member recently got married at the Flag Hill Winery in Lee, NH. There was a short ceremony outside, and then we all had a plated dinner in the reception tent. It's a very pretty place, and a simple venue. The view, overlooking the vineyard, was picturesque and peaceful. A nice place for an event and wedding. The food was decent (although the vegetables were overcooked, and my Honey's chicken was on the dry side). They didn't serve any of their wine, but I'm not sure if that was at the request of the family. They make their own gin, as well, and I was told it was very good.

Was here last October for a tasting and this month for a wedding. The place is beautiful. The staff is very accommodating. Wine was pretty good, but they also operate a distillery making their own vodka and spiced rum. The Sugar Maple liqueur is great. At the end of the wedding reception there was a fireworks show which really topped the evening. The only negative is the mosquitos.

Looking for local flare, a great port, decent maple liquor or some old fashioned (exported its so good) Apple Jack? This is the place in Southern NH to stop, taste, (BUY), some wonderful locally crafted brews. Add fun, bright service folks and beautiful NH views and you have made a memorable stop on your way to exploring the best of NH. Make sure to try the Vodka!

We came upon Flag Hill quite by accident, and what a nice surprise it was! We sampled the wines, which were delightful, and came away with several bottles. The gentleman pouring the wine was friendly and informative. Flag Hill looks like it would be a wonderful spot for a celebration.
