grand slam

We were just at Grand Slam on New Year's Eve day. It was great! The kids (all boys 7 - 11 years old) LOVED it! I was surprised that the place was NOT packed. We could play any games we wanted without waiting in line. I thought the place was clean, well managed, the areas seems to be in good repair and working. The food was surprisingly good (real meat hamburgers) and the price was comparable to any fast food place. The staff was VERY nice and accommodating. It is obvious that the place is older, but there has been much updating. I was disappointed about the price with only 4 areas to play. But the kids loved it. I will take them there again.

Overall the place is fine. The bumper cars needed some oil because they squeaked a lot. The website was out of date. The packages no longer have the batting cage included. Laser tag was very popular.

Grand Slam has been around for a long time, and you can tell. The decor and furnishings are dated and worn, and the seating is terrible unless you are lucky enough to have a table for a birthday or other party.However, the kids don't care about all that... They have a great time with all the games and offerings -- mini golf, bumper cars, play areas, arcade, etc.This location (Coon Rapids) doesn't offer the indoor trampoline, which is a shame.The food here is reasonably priced, and they are in the process of adding some gluten-free items, like pizza, which is wonderful.Overall, kids love it, and it's a fantastic place to let them blow off steam when the weather outside is yucky.

I found this place just this week, though I'm sure it's been around a while. The building is in a run down mall area, but the area is not a bad area. Inside, things are in good order. You can see some age and wear, but things are still kept up well and it is clean. We played mini-golf and the course was fun. I also got a pop after. Prices for most activities seem better than other places I have been and the food prices are high, but not crazy like a movie theater. I will be going back more!
